    Hello!

Could anyone recommend me a photographer in our bay area?

My budget for it is less than $3000

    Thank-you! =)

My friend-of-a-friendors are photogs and I'd recommend checking them out, they're just starting out so they have VERY good prices. I'm really looking forward to all the detail pictures they're going to take at our wedding (I'm 9 months out and already have my "must take" photo list going!).

You can see a slideshow of some of their past work on their website. Their site is a little out of date, but it's getting updated right now with lots more pictures.

Hi, my photographer, Phoebe Joy, is actually from LA but coming to San Francisco for our wedding.  http://www.phoebejoyphotography.com/#splash-f4be2.  Not sure what her current prices are but she is probably well under your budget.

My friend recently used Garvin Tso and he was $1500 with a great package.  Haven't seen her wedding pictures yet but I *loved* her engagement pictures.

We're using CK Hwang from 39 East Photography.  The company is based in Singapore but they are just breaking into the U.S. market (based in CA). I'm really looking forward to working with him!

My best friend's wedding photographer was amazing, and I think she only paid $3K for 8 hours, getting ready shots, bridal portraits, a free engagement session, etc.

I can make an intro if you want, they are amazing and a very nice husband-wife team.

I'm using Joel Flory http://www.joelflory.com/ He is sort of expensive, but is very flexible with what you want. No 4 hour minimums like other photographers!

I like "up and coming" photographers, or those who aren't well-known (yet). Their prices are much more reasonable, and if you pick the right one for your wedding, you'll really like the result.

For us, we went with Yong Studio (based in San Jose). I read that one of the "rules" is that a photographer's website must be updated, but I took a chance and met him anyway. I felt very comfortable with him and his wife, liked the potential I saw in the recent weddings he had done, and was honored the previous year's pricing. In the end, I'm one happy client and am able to recommend him to my friends. He's getting great experience with each wedding, and the pictures are looking great!

I used F.C. Wong (our budget was about $2000 for photography and he was able to meet it) who takes absolutely gorgeous photos in a photojournalistic style.  Everyone was super impressed with his work.

You can see his work here: http://fcwong.bigfolioblog.com/

(The photos from our own wedding are here: http://fcwong.bigfolioblog.com/weblog/post/124118

He is DEFINITELY worth checking out!

If you are on a budget, I think the best photography studio without question is Red Letter Studios.

    http://www.redletterweddingstudio.com/

They have 3 awesome photographers, AMAZING WORK and unbelieveable price.  $995 starting, and $1495 full coverage with album.

    Just awesome.

Definitely Beth Hurley. Her rates are truly affordable for the quality. Check out my post about her http://mytenthousandwedding.blogspot.com/2010/01/i-heart-elizabeth-hurley.html
