Mrs. Powder Puff's post today about doing the "first look" has got me thinking. We've been planning to wait until I walk down the aisle to see each other, but I'm reconsidering. I'm dying to have more time for pictures, but not sure where a good place to do the first look and pictures would be.

We'll be getting ready at the San Mateo Marriott (near the highway 101 and 93 interchange) and the ceremony and reception is in Woodside, at the top of the mountain where Woodside Road and Skyline Blvd meet.

Does anyone have any ideas of where a good photo shoot/first look location would be between these two points? I think doing it at the hotel would be too boring, but I don't want to have to add the stress of traveling far out of our way to a photo shoot location. And there's no good place to do it at our venue, the only good spot would already be set up for the ceremony.

    Bay Area Bees, please help!

Bumping this up in case anyone has suggestions!

I found the perfect spot this weekend, but sadly it's taken on my date. But thought I'd share if anyone else is looking: The Pulgas Water Temple

According to Yelp it's only $150 to rent for 2 hours. Not bad for a wedding ceremony or photo shoot, and it's really beautiful.

My other contenders I've found online but not yet seen in person is the San Mateo Central Park, where they have a Japanese Tea Garden with bridges and a koi pond, and also a rose garden with a cute gazebo. Here are some pics:

My other contender is Sharon Park in Menlo Park, right off Sand Hill Road. Here are some pics:

What do you guys think? Are there any better locations in the area to have our first look and a photo shoot before our ceremony?
