If you don't need anything super fancy, you can go to Kinkos or Costco. I DIY'ed mine and printed them at Kinkos and thought they looked fine.
I used an online company to print my self-designed invitations. They do thermography (which I used, turned out great) and offset printing. www.nwprintedsolutions.com. Their customer service is great, very responsive.
They're located in Oregon, but doing business online was fine for me and I'm in Boston.
My advice as a professional--we use GreenerPrinter for nearly everything we print (and NW Printed Solutions for therm, I agree, they are great!).
GP is in Berkeley, on 7th right by the Scharffen-Berger factory. You can get a quote instantly online if you know what you want, the customer service has always been wonderful, they are fairly inexpensive and the print quality is GREAT. AND they are green certified, and only use vegetable based ink and recycled stock. You can request their set of samples from their website: www.greenerprinter.com
I love them and NWPS--both do a great job and are the west coast. :)
