Hoping to get some recommendations for BB creams or tinted moisturiser, i normally just wear BB cream and then light powder over the top for everyday wear. I’ve tried quite a few, i’m currently using the Rimmel one and i don’t love it, have tried the Garnier – the oil free one is ok for summer but isn’t moisturising enough for winter. Loreal is probably the best i’ve used so far, i think next i’m going to try the revlon one to see how i like it. Main thing for me is it must have sunscreen.
Would love to hear about your experiences!

@Missy_Star: the only BB cream I’ve used is Maybelline (that tends to be my favorite drugstore makeup line). I loved the way it felt and looked IRL, but in photos it made my face look more pale and washed out, so I quit wearing it. I should go back to it on days that I don’t have to get photos taken, but in general it made me mad. LOL

@Missy_Star: oh, and I use a regular moisturizer (with SPF) in addition to the BB cream. I don’t think I could possibly get enough moisturizing from the BB cream alone because my skin is too dry. Then a really light (like a few swishes of the brush) layer of loose powder on top and that’s all I use on my face, when I use the BB cream.

I would look at mineralogie makeup, they have a wonderful BB cream, very flawless IMO. But I can’t really say how it compares to others, since it’s the only one I have tried, but I did love it!!!
ETA: I just noticed that you are in Australia, not sure if you can even get it there, but it might be worth a looksie.

I use Aveeno Positivley Radiant Tinited moisturizer and I love it.
I’ve tried other BB creams and they just were not moisturizing enough for me.

@Blonde17Jess: Oh i didn’t ever think of wearing moisturiser underneath – i really like the coverage of the garnier oil free but it’s def not hydrating enough so maybe i should try that.
About looking washed out in photos, apparently if you use any products with sunscreen, moisturiser, foundation etc it reflects the flash and makes you look much more pale than you are. Since both my moisturiser and foundation have SPF I hae this problem all the time but with the strength of the sun here it’s just not an option to go without.
thanks for your feedback, i’ll give the maybelline one a try, the great thing about the drug store brands are that they’re cheap enough to keep trying different ones til you find what you like. i agree with maybelline being a great brand, i’m obsessed with their lipsticks, so cheap i have about 8 of them – the colour sensational vivids are awesome.

MONSTER- I just looked it up and the range is available at select few places, one of them is about 3 minutes from my house so it must be fate! I will check it out and let you know how i go with it 🙂
Ms_Purple – i didn’t think of Aveeno – i use their face scrub and regular moisturiser and love them.

I wear BB cream as my every day, working makeup look. I put primer on first, then BB cream, and powder to set (as if it was regular foundation). I don’t want heavy makeup for work (I’m a teacher, no reason to look fancy), but I also like to look put together. I was using Bare Minerals as my all-the-time makeup, but I realized I just needed a change. Now I wear the Bare Minerals occasionally on the weekend, but I use the READY collection tinted Mineral Veil as my powder over the BB cream. The BB cream that I use (and the only one I’ve ever tried) is Revlon. I absolutely love it – thick, but not too thick. Easily makes my face look flawless, like no dark spots and imperfections, but in a not-wearing-makeup way.
On another note, I’ve been happy with the other Revlon products I’ve used, as well. When I made the switch from Bare Minerals I went to Revlon for liquid foundation because I didn’t want to spend a fortune if I realized that liquid foundation was still not for me (had application problems as a teenager). I got the Revlon Nearly Naked liquid foundation and I love it. I don’t feel the need to go to any expensive or “top of the line” brands because I think Revlon makes a really good face product.

@Missy_Star: Yeah, I thought my next foray I may go ahead and try a shade darker to combat the wash-out since I did like it otherwise. I also love Maybelline’s lip stuff, I recently bought the baby lips tinted lip balms! Such an awesome purchase.

The only one I like is Stila, which is so expensive. It blends nicely and doesn’t make my skin feel tight. I’ve tried the Cover Girl version, and without moisturizer it makes my skin feel really dry. The Clinique one is wayyyyyy too thick.
I would go to Sephora and ask for a few samples…then go to Ulta and do the same. I tried the Tarte one and it was AWESOME but it’s like $45 and that’s out of my budget. It has like 30 spf and it’s wicked light, though.

I like the dior bb cream, but it is crazy expensive! I love it so I keep buying it
for cheap stuff I just got the loreal magic bb cream, I’ve only used it a few times but I like it so far!

I use the Two Faced BB cream and I really like it. It’s one product that I actually think has improved my skin over time. It’s a little pricey at first, but my first tube has lasted me over a year so I’m not complaining.

I like Clinique CC cream better than any tinted moisturizer or BB cream I’ve tried. Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer is a close second.

I’ve tried quite a few, including the Garnier, but I did not like that one. It didn’t wear well on me. I have used the Aveeno positively radiant tinted moisturizer in the past, and it works well enough and has a good amount of SPF. I have also tried the Tarte BB with primer, but it was way too drying and I needed to wear moisturizer under it. My favorite so far has been the Smashbox BB. It is moisturizing enough to wear alone, has SPF35, stays on and is flattering in person and in pictures.
