Like the theme. You could hang xmas lights (white), yellow paper lanterns and possibly use daisies in small floral arrangements.
I like the red and white, but would like another color to add some pop. I always like red, white, and yellow.
They have super cute ant stamps that you can use on invites. or watermelon seeds.

for more inspiration.
I'd also use glass bottles of soda in big tubs!
A fun favor would be a bottle of sauce with special label for the couple.
Maybe serve corn on the cob and let everyone take home a set of corn on the cob holders- there are lots of cute ones out there.
Maybe you could find some home-made BBQ sauce that could be bottled and sent home with guests? (imagine tying it with a cute bow- maybe a personalized label)
Maybe favors in the theme of picnic baskets- (obviously not full sized) filled with the afformentioned items.
Depending on how casual, perhaps forgo lots of tabels and chairs in favor of picnic blankets on the lawn? (ladies in dresses might not appreciate this, but if everyone is in shorts it could work).
What about lawn games like horseshoes and badmitton?
It sounds like it will be fun. Good luck!
We're doing a BBQ - but going Hawaiian themed just to be fun, complete with tiki Gods, and those thingsd you poke your head through to look like a muscle man or bikini babe....everything for the wedding is so serious so we're going FUN for ours!
I should note this is for the Rehersal dinner which is part the bach parties too.
Snippet and Ink has some great decorating pictures...just search BBQ on her site.
We are having our RD at a BBQ place and they provide fresh flower arrangements in cowboy boots that are really cute. We are also doing plastic cups and napkins with our names that says "J and E are tying the knot" in a lasso rope.
We had a BBQ to announce our engagement and it was so much fun!!!
You could make these as the invites:

And maybe as favors, you could get customized drink cozies?

I am hoping you can help me with some ideas for a late June shower I am helping to plan. We have decided on a very casual backyard bar-b-que theme. We will be grilling and having classic bar-b-que and picnic fare. I thought of using red & white checkered tablecloths, but haven't been able to come up with any other cute decorating ideas. And maybe a large watermelon fruit basket as a centerpiece (and a dessert!). Any other suggestions on decorations and favor ideas to go along with the bar-b-que theme? Thank you!!!
