I've heard of it causing nausea when it's a new pill you are just starting or when taken on an empty stomach, but I've not heard of a pill you've been taking for years suddenly causing nausea.
You're right, you should call your doctor. Maybe you can talk to one of the nurses in her office and they can advise you over the phone.
I think as we get older things can affect us differently. Try taking it right before you go to bed at night, maybe you'll sleep through the nausea?

I've been on the same BC pill for the better part of the last 12 years, or so, and never had any problems. Lately, though, I'm noticing that when I take the pill (I take it in the afternoon, with lunch), I'm nauseaus for the rest of the day. Has anyone else ever experienced this? I know, I should call my Dr. and go in to see her, but I'm just so busy right now.
