I just wanted to let you know to be aware of the above user name. I posted a dress for sale and they contacted me about it and are a total scammer.
She wants my full name, address, to send me a check for $100 more than my asking price to hold it etc…I am sure you know how the story goes.
Her email is email@example.com. I just don’t want anyone scammed by this person.

I just received the same e-mail from Debscott10. She claimed that she couldn’t give me her phone number due to the nature of her business and bad cell phone service.
I’ve had quite a lot of e-mails from people offering to pay above the asking price and with certified check. My advice to anyone else trying to sell on this site is never accept certified checks or money orders. It can take weeks or months for the bank to realize they are frauds.
I’m glad neither of us fell for her scam and hope that other brides don’t have their days ruined because of some bad people.

@Molly2014: Darn it! She got me too! Thankfully, I didn’t give her any information because I am very wary of people. There should be a way to block them on here.

Ugh, I HATE people like this. The rest of us work too hard and are good people, it makes me so mad that people like this are out there to get something for nothing. If they worked half as hard at an actual job as they do scamming that could have a lot of money!!
So glad she didn’t get use guys either.

Thanks for the heads up. I just rec’d the same bogus email from Deb Scott. I thought it would be much easier to sell my wedding dress online, but I guess not. Unfortunately, there are a bunch of scammers out there so watch out!!

OMG, thank you so much for the warning. I just received an email from her, she also offered me $100 above my asking price and also had the same excuse about having bad connection due to her nature of work. She requests that I remove my listing immediately.
I’m so glad I did a little search here because I am never comfortable releasing my personal info to strangers.
You saved my life, thank you so so much!!

@eve_rdh: I ALWAYS do research on things like this as well. She offered me the extra $100. When I told her I only accept PayPal she gave some bogus reason about why she couldn’t saying her son was in the military and injured and she had to be by his side.
For me that is so offensive for her to give that reason as my brother, father, and FI’s grandfather all served in the military, for someone to make up those lies is just awful!

Thanks for the heads up, I don’t have mine listed here yet, but good to know.

Thats scary that so many people have been contacted by the same scammer! Do these people have to be a member of the Bee in order to contact you about an item?
