That's adorable! I LOVE the dress. If you definitely want the MOH's to stick out, I think it's a cute idea...I just liked the uniform look, so I didn't go with an opposite color for my MOH, but if you go with these two dresses I think it'll go perfect.
I am not the biggest fan of the second dress, but I do love that first one. I think for me it's just a color preference though, it's certainly a nice dress.
Pretty dress! I say go for it but check with your bms to see that no one absolutely hates it, you and they (and your mother) are the ones whose opinions count.
i think these two dresses would look great together and that it is a great way to make your MOH stand out
I think the dark blue looks better....maybe you could give her some embellishment instead of inverting the colors?
I am not sure if this designer does this, but maybe you could change the color of the sash and do all dark dresses and have the light blue and whites sashes.
I love them, I think its a great idea. And I'm all for a dress a BM can wear again, your BM's would definitely be able to do so.
i like it! but i'm with hopewell though, make sure ask them. they're the ones who will be wearing it!
I actually think this would be a better solution for the MOH's
Oh they like them! I made sure. They like the chiffon, because it is a lighter material and I am getting married in August.

LOVE it! Such a good idea! I like short dresses though, just me! :)
I love the dress and I like to see variations of some sort with the bridesmaids. I just think it adds visual interest. I'm not wild about the lighter blue color with the dark blue sash though. I would probably have all of them in the dark dress and maybe have the MOHs with blue sashes, maids in ivory. Great dress though!
My bridesmaids are wearing this AA dress! I have to say, they all hated it and then went to try it on and LOVED IT. It flatted each of them with drastically different bodies. My MOH doesn't want to wear the long one, (she's super short). We're making her "stand out" with a flower in her hair....
I think I am going to go with the same colors, navy dress and cornflower sash and have the MOH's wear the longer one. They are totally fine with it!
And it flatters everyones body, which is why I love this dress.
Very pretty! I love Alfred Angelo!
I love when brides play the sashes off of each other! I think that it looks really cute and you can always tell who the MOH is because her dress is different!
love the dresses and love the colors- will be perfect for your wedding. :)
The contrasting colors are pretty. However there are alot of women who are not comfortable in anything strapless. If you are marrying in a church, you may not be allowed to wear strapless. Also, certain shades of blue are not flattering if someone has warm toned skin. While I have never seen short dresses on bridesmaids, that particular style is more flattering overall than the longer version. No matter what, you need to have everyone try them on to see what works and what doesn't.
Hey, we have the same bridesmaids dresses. There are a lot of color options for this dress. We're doing eggplant purple for the bottom and a lighter purple for the sash. And the colors look pretty different than on screen. If you have an ALfred Angelo nearby I suggest you go in and take a look, if not you can also order the color swatches online.
I love the navy dress, and I love the idea of reversing the colors, but I am not a huge fan of the cornflower dresses. I'd definitely check with your bridesmaids if they like that color. If not, another great way to make her stand out would be to give her a slightly different bouquet (bigger, different flowers, different colors, etc.).
They're both beautiful dresses... Definitely makes the MOH stand out, which is nice.
I vote... YES!!
I agree, the style of the dress is beautiful!! The darker dress is more appealing to my eye, and might look better with different skin tones. I say it's up to you and your maids!
Thank you all sooo much for your opinions. I am the most indecisive person on earth, and now I am thinking black/pink for colors.
I seriously can not decide. Thank God we won't be getting married for at least a 1.5 years! What about this:

I am definitely going to go with a dark colored dress/lighter sash.
i love love those dresses. I wanted them for my hostesses in Harvest Gold with the chocolate sash.
I like the darker blue better, but that's just me. I think the lighter blue should be the accent color for sure. The idea of a long one for the MOH would look nice if you want something different for her.
What material is that? It looks like a jersey knit type dress....
I definitely like the darker colors better than the lighter - but, my super honest opinion is I'm not crazy about it. I shy away from dresses with sashes in them (personally) and I think it's a very casual dress. Not sure if you are going for a more formal or casual dress - but something to consider.
Oracle, it is a chiffon. I think I am going for more casual. Although it is a night wedding, so that is something to consider!
But our venue is unique, and really not too fancy. Not a hotel ballroom. It is a conference center, right on the Boston Harbor.
This is the room were the reception will be held:

And this is the outside...so not very formal!

Colors change, it happens. But the dress is pretty regardless of color!

Our wedding colors are navy, cornflower, green and ivory ( I know a lot!) I am having such a hard time choosing between navy or cornflower dresses! I found a dress that I love from Alfred Angelo. I don't know if I am having 5 girls or 4 in my wedding yet, but I am definitley having a maid and a matron of honor. So I came up with this idea that the MOH's could wear this:
And the other 2 or maybe 3 could wear this:
Is it cute, or ugly? I am thinking I love it. It is the best of both worlds. But would it be too much?? Be honest, my feelings won't be hurt!
