I am visiting my Fiance in about a month while he’s deployed in Australia (he has a rough life, I know). We are having an Australian photographer take our engagement photos there since he won’t be home for several months. Keep in mind, on August 3rd when we take our engagement photos, it will be Australia’s winter, but where he is the highs are usually in the upper 70s.
I am struggling with what to wear for our beach engagement photos. He’s a rather casual guy, so I’m just asking him to wear his nice Eddie Bauer jeans and maybe a solid colored shirt. I have ordered this dress from Lily Boutique:
I plan on maybe wearing a pair of nice flat sandals, and maybe some turquoise jewelry. What do you think? Is this appropriate for a beach engagement photo session? Would you go shoeless or wear sandals?

futuremrschristensen: Very cute! I really like the dress and think it will look great. As a beach wedding photographer myself, I would suggest doing a second outfit for yourself as well that includes pants (jeans and a cute top). I always suggest that for my clients because it can sometimes be breezy on the beach, also not every pose lends itself well to dresses.

starfish0116: I’ll email him to see if he’s allowing time for an outfit change.

futuremrschristensen: If it’s sandy I would go shoeless. But some Australian beaches are all shells, and then shoes might be more comfortable.

We did our engagement photos on the beach and I started off wearing sandals but quickly decided to take them off. My photographer captured some cute shots of my Fiance helping me take them off…
