I wore sandals that had a strap that went around my ankle so I didn’t kick up sand.

I find it easier to walk in sand barefoot…so my vote is barefoot!

@future_mrs_m:  my friend was a bridesmaid at a beach wedding and the BM’s and bride were barefoot.

My friend said it was the worst thing because the sand was so hot! that would be my only concern!

I’m a beach wedding photographer, we always get a good laugh at people to wear their shoes on the beach. For one, it’s not comfortable. Secondly, it seems like every bride/BM who tires to wear flip flops – it just flicks the sand up the back of their dress. The temperature of the sand should not be an issue if they are getting married at a reasonable time. If it’s an afternoon wedding, they should be fine.

If you are going to go barefoot just be careful of the temperature of the sand.  I wore shoes for the ceremony and eventually took the off during pictures.  Here is a pic of mine.  They are wedges from Ugg.

I do feel it is easier to walk on sand barefoot, but I have to walk over a board walk and up stairs to cross over the dunes.  I don’t want to have to stop to take my shoes off at the bottom of the stairs!  I will be wearing ballet flats.  The wedding that I was at last month was on a beach and all the bridesmaids and bride were wearing heels, they were walking fine.

We all wore flats or strappy sandals. They didn’t kick up sand and they kept oour feet from freezing (beaches in Canada are cold in the morning!)

I went with a low wedge with a heel strap. My reasons were because 1) white sand can get super hot, 2) I wanted to be a little taller & lean out my legs, 3) we had a variety of surfaces to walk over (staris, a boardwalk, cement, then sand), & 4) shoes are cute & they were my “something blue”!

No bridal party- we only had 4 guests for our witnesses. One girl went barefoot, the other had white flip flops she ended up taking off because of the sand flying up everywhere. Our guys wore boat shoes…

Here’s a pic of mine- I found it was pretty darn easy to walk in them & they didn’t kick up any sand. BUT I live at the beach and am pretty used to walking on it in shoes because unlike Mexico my beach is always freezing!

I had a beach wedding, we all wore small heels and we had no problems walking in the sand.

I will be wearing flip flops because there could be lava rocks on the beach. I wanted to do barefoot at first but lava rocks would hut.
