Our ceremony will be at sunset on the beach in June, with a patio reception that will run until about 11pm. FI, Best Man, and the fathers will be wearing khaki colored suits ("Alfresco" from Stephen Geoffrey). I figure it will make a much more comfortable alternative to a tux, since it will all be outdoors.
It really depends on the feel that you want to set for your wedding, though. What kind of dress have you chosen? That can also determine what your groom and the guys should wear.

I am not doing a beach wedding but I am doing a waterfall in the woods wedding on July 4th and my FI is wearing khakis with flip flops like the picture above with a white dress shirt and green tie on loosely, meaning shirt not buttoned to very top and tie not perfect with sleeves rolled up. Still looks amazing and best of all, he is comfortable in the outdoors. I think my guys has hot flashes and sweats an ocean in below freezing weather! Ask your FH what he thinks and what he would be comfortable with.
I'm all for khakis, chucks, a blue shirt, a madras tie and a navy blazer... so beachy casual!!

My fiance is wearing an ivory linen suit. I have asked him to pair that with a nice button-down shirt...preferably yellow or pink (his skin looks awesome against almost any color) in honor of the tropical location...no tie.

We're doing a beach wedding in October and I'm not 100% sure what the guys (including my guy) should wear. It's the beach, so it won't be crazy dressy, but it's an early eve cermony and night reception outside on a deck in the fall.
Thinking of a button down with sleeves rolled up...khaki's or black pants.
Just curious if anyone else has suggestions or won't mind sharing what they're doing.
