I know of the PV interpretive center, which isn't on the beach but has a gorgeous view of it. I honestly don't know about the cost but it is run by the city so it can't be *outrageous*. There is also La Venta up in PV, but I know it is pretty pricey (although I don't know exact costs.)
la venta has a food and beverage min around 20k. I do not know many places around la that are less than that. There is a really pretty grass area in la jolla. Its directly in front of the beach near the area with all the seals =). It is not expensive to get a permit to have a wedding there. There is the hyatt in huntington, but that has a min around 20k too. I do not know what your budget is, but I do not know of venues in the area that are cheaper than that.
check out this website you may find something here.

I am a newly engaged groom (38) that has lived in LA for 20 years. My fiance is 31 and this is her second marriage, my first. She has lived in LA 2 years and is from Tennessee.
I was interested in having a 125-150 guest wedding and wanted to see what sort of beach themes or water options people have used in the past.
Trying to keep costs under control but everything I look at seems to be really expensive.
This is my first time here, any thoughts/help would be appreciated.
