@ccantics:  My DH had a goatee on our wedding day. It didn’t matter to me what he looked like as long as he was comfortable. To be honest he has has a goatee or beard for as long as we’ve been together. I don’t know if I would recognize him without facial hair.

My DH started growing a beard soon after I met him (around 6 years ago).  I love the beard, and he wore it for the wedding, of course.  I say, if you both like it, he should go ahead and wear it.  It’s what you guys want.  Not anyone else…

Mine had a goatee on our wedding day. I have never seen him clean shaven, so I would have freaked if he shaved for the wedding!

My husband always has a beard so it was completely normal for him to have it at the wedding too.

My husband has had a mustache since I’ve known him, I would be passed if he shaved it. Most of the time he rocks the goatee. Here’s my guy on our wedding day, I thought he was handsome. One of his groomsmen had a full beard and I thought he looked good too.

@ccantics:  I thought a lot about my sideburns for my wedding.  I’ve had them since I was 13, though they vary in length, depending on my mood.  Normally they come to, around the bottom of my ear.  Sometimes lower, sometimes higher.

I wanted to look formal, I wanted to look mature, and I wanted to look like myself.  That last one was really what it came down to, when deciding whether to shave them.  I’ve always had them.  I’ve never wanted to get rid of them.  As I’ve done in the past for formal occasions, I shortened them a bit, so they came about 2/3 of the way down my ear, and looked tidy.

I’d say that’s the question your fiancé should ask himself.  Is this something I’m doing for fun, or an experiment?  Is this something I’m going to keep forever, or at least for a while?

The good news is, he has until the morning of the wedding to remove his beard. 🙂  I took my guys for shaves the morninig of, and it was awesome.  I highly reccomend it, even if he’s keeping his beard. (he can get it shaped, trimmed, and his neck/cheeks (depending on beard style) shaved.  It’s lke going to the spa!  On this topic – try out different barbers BEFORE the big day, if you’re going to go this route.  I also highly reccomend switching to an old fashioned butterfly razor – much easier for shaping the edges of your beard, and a better shave all around once you learn how to do it well.  I’ve been using one since Christmas and it’s amazing.

My husband always has a beard. It would have been so bizarre to see him without one on our wedding day, probably like if I had decided to shave my head.

Mine had a goatee from when we met all the way to after the wedding. He shaved it off for a costume this past Halloween (he looked sooooo weeeeeird), and then decided to try no-shave November the day after onward. Now he’s just trimming the beard, but I LOVE it!

When I met my DH, he had a huge beard.  I think he is so insanely sexy with a beard.  But unfortunately, the company he’s with now frowns upon facial hair, so he’s clean shaven UNLESS it’s “no shave November”.  So fortunately, he had 9 days to grow a beard out for our wedding.  His mom was SO mad that he didn’t shave, but I loved it and thought he looked SMOKIN.  haha

Who cares what the mom thinks!? Let her be all P’O’d if he doesn’t shave. Let him have his beard. My DH looked fantastic on our wedding day.

My husband has always had a beard, and trimmed it up nicely for the wedding.  The beard is part of him and I couldn’t imagine his face without it.  I think it’s sexy!

His family wanted him to shave it too, but I was insistent that he didn’t.  We wanted our wedding photos to reflect who we are, me with my red hair, and my husband with his glasses and beard.
