those are BEAUTIFUL! i'd be a bit nervous to start messing with louboutins...but i've never really had the luxury to afford them. maybe for the big day?
You can do the same thing to a $50 shoe. I wouldn't try this on a pair of Louboutins either.
That's gorgeous, but I just couldn't bring myself to mess with Loubs!
I actually bought a pair black heels to try this with. I am waiting on my crystals and tool to arrive this week and its go time!
Ummm...yeah....I think I found the shoes I want to DIY for my reception. And I think they'll have to be something else besides CL's. CL's don't fit in my budget on any day.
These are gorgeous. I've been looking long and hard at that TPF thread, thinking I want to do it and wondering will I have the patience to get all the way through both shoes! TheRen - could you let us know how long it takes you to do them?! Good luck!!
Oooohhh....I can't wait to see how it turns out for you. I hope you got enough crystals. On TPF, the girls were talking about 3k - 4k for covering the entire shoe.
I'm looking for a shoe to do myself, but I think I want a purple d'orsay.
@Dee of course.. Im waiting on my hotfix tool and then its on!!! Im sure im going to have to order more crystals but I wanted to start and see how much I would need. As you can see by the pic I got 6ss, 10ss, 16ss, and 20ss in the Tanzanite AB. All together I only have about 504 crystals and I read most girls used close to about 3000. I think the 6ss might be a bit small but I am going to lay everything out before I glue them on. Ill take a pic of that tonight to get some feedback.
@TheRen - Waiting with baited breath over here! I can hardly wait to see the result of your experiment!
ok here is just a few crystal laid out on the toe of the shoe and my heart almost skipped a beat.. omg ladies this is going to be beautiful (note that one of the 10ss stones is a regular tanzanite stone and not the ab.. I guess it got put in with mine by accident). Even though Im a red shoe bride these might end up being my reception shoes!!
Im so excited about sharing this process with you ladies.. I will get my real camera and take a before pic, then lots of during, and then after (and some modeling pics of them on my feets lol!)
@Ren: If you don't mind me asking, where did you get your crystals and how much is it costing you? The way I've priced it out, the crystals will cost more than the shoe. I'm looking at approximately $100 - $150 on crystals and glue. And that's based on buying crystals off of ebay.
This is a similar DIY: http://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=105056
I got mine at https://www.rhinestoneshop.com/catalog/index.php.
The 504 crystals I got (6ss, 10ss, 16ss, 20ss) in the Tanzanite AB were $37

As if Louboutins weren't beautiful enough, the ladies over at TPF have been taking plain shoes and "strassing" them, or adding their own tiny little crystals to the shoes. The regular shoes run around $600, but the "strass" shoes run around $2000-3000. These ladies took matters into their own hands. The result is beyond gorgeous.

The videos are a much better illustration of the shoes than the pictures:
Youtube Video of DIY Strass --This girl did her own. Result: amazing.
Youtube Video of Real White Strass --These are the real $3000 shoe, not DIY, but they're in white so you can get an idea.
I saw some white satin Stuart Weitzmans on Gilt yesterday for pretty cheap and I'm *considering* it. My colors are black and white, so maybe I should hold out for some black shoes so that I can wear the beauties again.
