hi s asian bees!

i was thinking...the nikkah is the most important piece of paper during the day of our (muslim) weddings, so why do we print it on some ugly, boring piece of copy paper? why not get a beautiful nikkah contract designed/printed similar to the tradition of the jewish ketubah? http://www.weddingbee.com/2009/11/03/ketubah-inspiration/

does anyone know of a shop that already has nice nikkah designs or someone i should contact to help design one?

Maybe you could try Etsy? Perhaps post an Alchemy request on there and see if someone who does Ketubah designs would be willing to design your Nikkah?

We had our ketubah custom designed for us. We went back and forth several times on the design and she was so nice. (I probably would have paid her more than she asked). Her name is Jen Raichman and she's on etsy. We wanted something more simple and modern than the really elaborate artwork of commercial ketubahs so you'll have to see if you like her style.

This is such a great idea, I never considered having it done professionally. It would be really nice to frame, and hang up in our bedroom.

i am working with Jen Raichman as well to create a custom ketubah and have been very impressed by her style. she has very simple modern designs, which will work well into our lifestyle. i think it would translate well into other documents with similar purpose.
