hahaha!

I can’t imagine posting about my wedding on facebook in anything but suuuuper general terms. More than that and it starts to feel rude to the people you didn’t invite! Especially with registry info…

Just curious, how is she dropping hints about the registry?

@mandypop:  I hope my friends love me enough to tell me if I ever do something so abnoxious?

I can’t help but ask, especially since you’d like someone to tell you… Why DON’T you tell her?  Nicely of course. Like “Hey, I know your wedding is coming up and everyone is happy for you, but did you realize… [these people are going through this]… and it might hurt them to see this so often.  And besides, you know everyone is so excited for you even if someone missed your previous posts, they will just ask you or someone else where you are registered to find out.”

Heck, we’re having a small backyard wedding and didn’t even care about a registry (we’re both over 35 and merged all our junk already… we don’t NEED anything!).  But a couple friends were hounding us for registry info so we caved and made one.  Half of it’s video games. 🙂

I’ve got one of those too. It’s ridiculous and you’re right OP, it’s icky.

AGG I had a FB friend like that too. She would put all kinds of obnoxious info. She even put the directions to their venue!!!

BTW we were not invited, neither were her other 5,143,345 friends.

@mandypop:

@MrsTangerine:  I don’t know if confronting her is right- is it tacky and lame sure but she is getting married and should be allowed to share her wedding on social media if she wants. Should she stop posting wedding stuff because someone else is getting divorced/fiance died? Unfortunately life still goes on for others when something bad happens to you.

Unless you’re inviting every single one of your FB friends, I think that’s not appropriate ever to post.  Put in the”info” section.
