I tried one of the lights on a wall in my house today. The picture is not 100% accurate on what it will look like in our venue, because a) the walls of our venue are much higher than the walls in our house, and b) the wall I was trying it out on is kind of a neon green, so the pink color got a bit warped by that. However, this should at least give an idea of what it will look like. Details of how I did it are at this link.
Those look FANTASTIC! I am so, so impressed. Are you able to put all the spotlights on a power strip or is it going to overload?
We plugged each of the spotlights into a different outlet, and nothing overloaded.
Ah, win, then! Is it weird that the fuses overloading was my second thought after "Oh that looks great!"? I just keep thinking about all those scenes in movies where all the lights go dark and it gets SUPER quiet all of a sudden!

Remember my insane idea to make 50 paper lanterns and hang them in my venue? I've now added uplighting to it.
The first picture below shows my venue. The walls of it are all black. That doesn't really say "wedding" to me. So I've been thinking about softening at least one of the walls with pink uplighting, like that shown in the second photo. (The stage for our musician will be opposite that wall, so there will be lots of spotlights and uplighting is not necessary, and the other two walls are much shorter.)
This idea was going nowhere for budgetary reasons, until today. Today was the day when I found that BulbAmerica had some really cheap PAR 56 spotlights (which would be big enough for the job), and an eBay seller had some really cheap bulbs for them. (Bulbs often cost more than the spotlights themselves.) I decided that this was fate, and got four spotlights, four bulbs, and four pink gels. Now I just have to build the stands for them. Details are here.
Honestly, prewedding, I was a really normal person! Well, ok, I've never actually been a normal person. But this is crazy, even for me.
