Anyone dealing with this? Where they take over 1/2 or 1/4 of the bed and leave you with a little corner. I’ve noticed it’s worse when you pull out the electric blanket for the fall/winter. But I don’t have the heart to kick them out of the bed either.

The cats are just starting to cuddle on the beds with us again. I’m sure it’s going to be bad once the heating blanket comes out.

My dog totally does this. My cat is usually good about not taking up too much room. We tried to kick my dog out and make him sleep on the floor for a few days but he howled until we let him back in bed. In the fall and winter though I don’t mind my dog being so close because he’s incredibly warm. So I sandwich myself between him and my fiance and I’m the warmest one in the bed.

We are buying a king bed for this very reason!! It doesn’t help that the dog weighs as much as me either lol Our pup is getting better about staying off the bed with time- i think he gets too hot

Yes! I’ll wake up in the middle of the night with our cat sleeping up by my head…on my pillow…while my feet are hanging off the end of the bed and my neck aches from unknowingly surrendering my pillow during the night.

Our cat Holly is the worst with this – she insists on laying right next to my pillow, and then Zoey, our other cat, lays at our feet. It’s crazy how much room an 8 lb cat can take up when she’s stretching out! Of course, she meows if we even come close to rolling over on her.

Both our dog and cat are awful with this! They usually end up with at least half the bed while we contort ourselves into uncomfortable positions to avoid kicking them off the bed.

Hee hee! My dogs are awful about this. My boxer loves to snuggle ALL the time, and often sleeps pushing up against me or on top of me. Sometimes I love it, and sometimes I boot her off the bed to sleep on her bed on the floor 😉

We have a king-size bed so both us and our 3 dogs will fit. But my dogs also know to move to make room for the humans. My fiance and I are the “pack leaders”, the “lower pack members” must move when we the humans want to sit or lay somewhere. They can have the spots in between, but the humans get first choice.

Our kitty, Feanix. He insists that the bed is his. He gets about 2/3 of the bed and I have to sleep around him. During the night, I can feel him pushing me over by extending his legs. When he decides to not sleep on the corner of the bed, his next best option is my chest or above my head. My FI won’t tolerate him being a bed hog. FI will push his butt off the bed. Our cat has learn to sleep on my side.

My 6-pound 13-year-old Chihuahua is a suprizingly accomplished bed hog. And we’re talking a king sized bed, too. The snuggle bed on the couch, the pillow bed in the computer room, and the dog house with the blanket and heating pad in the bedroom are apparently not quite enough.
This is why I believe Chihhuahuas are part cat.

We ended up kicking the dog out of bed. At first it broke my heart… but now life is better b/c we can both sleep.

Oh man, our cat is a super bed hog. She likes usually to lay across or between my legs to sleep, and sometimes I’ll wake up in the middle of the night curled in a little ball, because she is stretched out across the middle of my side of the bed! She also likes to wake me around 3am by patting my face gently with her paws, and as soon as I open my eyes she starts purring like a jet engine, and I roll onto my side, and she curls up against my chest. It’s sweet – but I like to get to sleep through the night!!! 😉

Hahahhaa and this is why I refuse to let my dog sleep with us! She’s in a crate right now but DH keeps bringing up the fact that when she’s not in there anymore (when she’s older and not a trouble maker), she’ll sleep with us. I am putting my foot down and not letting that happen. She can sleep on the floor in our room in her down littel doggy bed!

Our dog is a bed hog. If he tries to push me out of the way I push back but FI is a pushover and lets him do it. FI will wake up in the middle of the night on the edge of the bed. The cat is pretty good and just sleeps on our feet or between our legs.
