Hi OC bees!
What do you think about a little meeting?! I was thinking maybe a Tuesday night for dinner?

Awww wish I could, I have class on Tuesday nights - hopefully I'll catch the next one.
I have classes on Tuesday and Thursday nights, but I'd love to meet up any other night of the week. I'm in Irvine.
i'm in tustin ranch... tuesday night will be good for me starting next week (when the semester ends).
Oh I'm in Long Beach (belmont shores) but moving to Cypress soon! I grew up in the OC (tustin) so I feel like this is my board! But you are all truely OCer's! LA is way to far for me...I'm stuck in the middle! HA!
that sounds fun! i'm in irvine. i don't know if you guys saw the previous post, but about 15 hrs ago, one of the bees suggested an OC gocco party (she was willing to use her gocco, which is sooo nice!), which i think would be a great way to meet up and also learn something fun! if interested, maybe we can use that as a get together? what do you think?
yay i'm down to meet up too! i live in irvine and would be down for a get-together or get-together + gocco. :)
i'll be in the oc area june 12 and 13th if you guys decide to meet around then!

Well~ I have a gocco and I would be more than happy to have a gocco party! I seriously *love* it and have done a lot of great projects!!! Let me check about June 12 or 13th.Â
Darn I leave for Utah that day :( Hopefully I'll catch the next one.
june 13th works for me! and mrs bee is here too! that would be awesome!! (where would we meet? at someone's place, in a cafe, mm...any ideas?).
June 13th could work for me if it is later in the day or evening -- or I could just stop by late. My fiance's work is throwing him a "man shower" that afternoon at 3:00 and I'm invited.

i'm the one who started the gocco offer in the other post ... i do have a gocco and lots of supplies!

should we be shooting for happy hour somewhere, or a place to set up shop for the gocco goodies? what does everyone think about a location maybe somewhere in the tustin area?
i would offer to host, i just don't have the space to do so...
How exciting! I may be able to make it. Like JoieDeVie said, maybe somewhere in Tustin area (What about the new area "The District?" I heard that place is pretty neat!) or even the Spectrum? Then again if it's a Friday evening, it may get packed.

i was thinking the district as well... they have a sushi place RA i think? but honestly the only place i can think to go that won't throw us out if we wanna make it a gocco meet and greet would be Panera? people study there and spend long amounts of time.... i dunno?
what are people's thoughts on Panera, that way we won't be upsetting servers in a regular restaurant (it's the former server in me talking)?
I don't mind hosting it at my townhouse. I have a huge work table and a gocco. The only problem is I'm in Wagon Wheel - it's off of Oso (Mission Viejo). I think it might be somewhat of a drive for everyone. Another thought...do you think Paper Source in SCP would let me bring in my gocco for demonstration?Â
should we keep the two events (meet-up & gocco night) seperate? i'd love to meet all the OC bees, but i'm only semi-interested in learning about the gocco.
here's some places we could meet up for happy hour/dinner/drinks:
--the marketplace (BJs, Opah, Taco Rosa)
--the district (RA sushi [great happy hour deals, btw], auld dubliner, jt schmids, lucille's, pinkberry for dessert)
--spectrum (too many to mention... although parking there sucks)
i'm free on the 13th in the late afternoon and beyond.
I'd like to join if I can fit into my schedule. I have classes Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. I'm in Irvine!

i'm fine saving the gocco for another time, that was originally why i had started a seperate thread...
i'm leaning towards the district since it should be the least crowded, maybe either RA or JT Schmids, and do we know what MRS BEE's timeframe is like that evening??

This sounds great! I should be out of my fiance's "man shower" by 5:30pm, and then I can head down to the district. I second (or third?) The District -- so what place there?
friday evening at the district works for me. you guys decide on the time and place.

Of the larger restaurants, I have been to:
Lucille's BBQ (I'd vote against, only because they tend to be really crowded)
The Auld Dubliner (their patio might work)
Anyone been to The Winery, RA Sushi, Bluewater Grill or JT Schmidts? Or would any of the smaller places be good for meeting up?
RA has a good happy hour (it lasts until 7pm)... $1 bottles of sake! Haha... but they have nigiri, rolls, and wings/dumplings on their HH menu. Their patio is pretty decent.
JT Schmid's has a BJs-like feel and OK food.
I agree that Lucille's can get too crowded.
There's also The Winery, which is a wine bar/restaurant. I haven't been there, but have heard good things.
My vote would be for either RA or Auld Dubliner... or we could just go dessert-style and pig out at Pinkberry!

ooh how fun, i just saw this post! hopefully i can make this meet. :)
All of you bees are too cute! I am from the area-- and just got addicted to this site. I just got engaged LAST WEEK! So I am still glowing... What was ultimately decided? To have a get-together rather than a gocco gathering? I don't mind either way what the reason for the gathering is. I have been to the district several times, the place I tend to wind up going to the most is the chaparosa grill(714.259.9888) which is actually pretty good and has outdoor seating. Has anyone been there and like it? I wouldn't mind joining that evening if I am not working. Is someone getting a tally of how many bees will be there? I will keep checking in to see when and where etc. Sounds like fun though! Such a great idea!
How fun! I can't believe i just saw this post. Hopefully i can make it (I live right on the border of LA and OC). I think we picked the 13th cuz Mrs. Bee is in town, but is she even coming out?
