Hi! I'm (the future) mrsmdphd.  I'm 23, a PhD student in Education (focus in Higher Education Policy), and the only person I know who is going to be in school longer than me (I've got another 5 years) is my FI.  He is an MD/Phd student, so he's got another 7 years, and that's just the class work before he starts his residency and then his post-doc.  Crazy kid.  We've been together about 5 1/2 years, been engaged for a year, and we're getting married in less than 2 months!

We live in Nashville, TN though we're both transplants...FI's from Oklahoma and I'm a New Mexico girl (heading back there this afternoon for a bridal shower!).  We bought our first home together last summer, a swanky condo that we're not cool enough to live in, and we share it with our very weird cat, Hermes.  Hermes is almost 2 years old and has travelled across the country with us.  He enjoys the tops of bookshelves and peeing in the toilet.

I enjoy dance, mostly the classics: ballet, jazz, modern, lyrical...though I've recently taken up Irish Step Dancing.  I'm also about to start Aikido on the suggestion of my FBIL.  I'm also obsessed with musical theater and karaoke (FI vetoed a karaoke reception, much to my dismay).  I want to BE Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls) and I own every season of GG...have seen each episode over and over and over and over.  Sad, I know.

@OttawaBride - YAYYY!  Someone with whom I can share my psychosis!

@OttawaBride - Of COURSE I do!  There was a lot going on in that episode....I definitely start feeling awkward with the Dean breaking up with Rory bit...but the part with Rory and Jess on the bridge is AH-dorable.  I always secretly liked them together better than her other boyfriends.  But the whole episode is great with the outfits, and the disgusting sandwiches that Mrs. Kim makes from god knows what....it's all genius!  I don't know if I could pick a favorite episode!!

@danadelphia - Your beagle is SO CUTE!  That face!  I'm dying.  Loooooove him!

@missjyc - YAY!  We should start a club!

@Ottawa - This might be taking my crazy a little too far, but I decided (in my head) that after the show ended, she ended up with Jess.  It was the best fit, as far as I was concerned.  Especially once he got his sh** together.  I def want to go home and watch some too, but I'm going home to visit my parents!

I'm Candy_nee. I'm 26, the FI is 25.  I like to joke that I'm a cougar.  We met just under 2 years ago on Eharmony.  We had both just moved to Myrtle Beach, SC for work. I'm originally from TN and he is from NC.  He moved in with me 2 months after we started dating, and got engaged 9 months after that.  6 months into the engagement, we moved from Myrtle Beach to Raleigh, NC to be closer to his family.

I'm a Financial Services Representative for a bank (fancy name for basically customer service and setting up accounts!), and FI is a teller for a competitor bank.

We have 2 dogs - Finn an King Charles Spaniel mix who is afraid of life, and Hippo a 5 month old Boxer/Beagle mix who I like to refer to as the "wild beast".

I'm a total neat freak, I love shoes, I own the entire series of Sex and the City, I love to travel, and we can't wait to have kids.

I've actually never introduced myself in the 4 or so months I've been hanging around!

Twalila (which is a name my mom called me when I was little though not even close to my real name), 29 yrs old.  Born and raised in Pittsburgh, I will always be a Yinzer at heart.  I moved to NYC 1 yr after college (7 yrs ago!), and after 3 yrs working in diamond & fine jewelry wholesale, I switched to a private equity firm (think Pretty Woman).  I'm marrying a boy from my hometown (and high school!) though we never met until we both lived in NYC despite knowing literally all the same people.  FI, 28 (yes, I'm 14 months older) works for an investment bank in Times Square, and we just moved in together to an awesome apt in the Hells Kitchen neighborhood of Manhattan with a huge patio perfect for our adorable little poochies, Romie & Jules.

We got engaged last June during a quick weekend trip to DC.  I had NO IDEA it was coming (evidenced by my lack of even showering that day), and would not change a single detail from the weekend.  I'm fully aware, every single day, of what a lucky girl I am to have found the person I have.  We're planning a lovely lakeside Catholic ceremony followed by a casual farm reception about 30 min from where we grew up followed by a 2 week Reef & Rainforest trip to Australia!

I don't think I've ever actually gotten around to a formal introduction, so i might as well go for it today!

I'm hergreenapples. I'm 27 (will be 28 at the wedding) and The Guy is 31 (will be 32 at the wedding). We live in a city in Ontario that's halfway between Toronto and Detroit and basically in the middle of nowhere :) It is not my favourite place (I moved here from Montreal, so I have high standards!), but more and more it's becoming my home.

The Guy and I met through an online dating site (but our parents don't know and we have to find a way to tell them before the wedding, ack!) when I was in grad school and he'd just started working. I now work in communications for a university and he's a lawyer.

We've been together for 4.5 years and have lived together for 3.5 years. We built a house in the summer of 2008 and we're still working on decorating it and are slowly getting rid of our university furniture and replacing it with "big kid" stuff.

We adore cooking and are total foodies. We go to the market together every weekend and have a constant rivalry over who's the better cook. We also love to travel: weekend trips, big roadtrips or oversea voyages, we're equally in love with all of them and spend a lot of time planning our next trip. We also spend a lot of time reading (me: novels, him: historical biogrpahies) and watching tv (Lost, How I Met Your Mother, Mad Men, Californication, Modern Family..and the list goes on!), as we are both total homebodies and prefer to spend most of our time relaxing at home together.

About Me:
I wanted to dance for a living, came close too but an injury put the brakes on it so I live in the real world of corp. America (boo). FI & I grew up in the same town in Westchester & know tons of the same people but never met. We met in a bar in '02 dated for over a year, even lived together for a while but in the end went our separate ways (for about 3 yrs).  He typed my name into a myspace search 4 years ago and we got back in touch. A few weeks after that we ran into each other at a concert in Madison Sq. Garden (turns out I was in the wrong section too. Fate much?) and that was that.

I love interior design & taking dance classes. I straight up suck at DIY but I can bake just about anything. I'm not a "girly" girl and most of my friends are guys. I'm obsessed with Pottery Barn,shoes, anything with Gene Kelly or Chevy Chase in it and I've never seen 1 episode of SATC.

FI loves me, but he might love Bono and/or Eddie Vedder more. He eats nothing but junk food & never gains a pound (how do they DO that?!). He's super sarcastic and he cracks me up! You can add him to the GG club too - he's in love with Lauren Grahm and has no problem admitting he watches Gilmore Girls on ABCFam. ;)

mrsmdphd - my parents made me take step dancing - hated it as a kid but it's so much fun now and it's GREAT cardio. Are you soft shoe or have you been taking hard shoe classes?
