- Wedding: July 2013
We are stuck between two venues, venue ‘a’ I already have a design idea for but is $1,000+ more expensive the venue ‘b’. poo~
So we’ll most likely to choosing venue ‘b’ for our wedding ceremony and reception.
venue ‘b’ description: I can use the outdoors and the entire house. I am allowed to use the kitchen, play room and it even has a ballroom and wine tasting room that they call the sun room. However this wedding is going to be a “dry” wedding.
Give your decorating advice: I thought of giving this historic farmhouse a rustic chic vibe with coloured mason jars etc. but then last Saturday I went to my FI’s neice’s wedding and she did a rustic, farmhouse chic decor look and I don’t want to rip off any of her ideas and have the family think I am doing so. Now I am at a loss, I do not know how to decorate this historic site! How would you decorate this venue without adding any “farmhouse”, “rustic”, “country chic” decor to this site?
My thoughts: I was thinking of a “Secret Garden” type theme (like the movie, remember?) But I am afraid it is too “rustic”, or something vintage, or adding lines of fabric and lanterns and candles all over the place with some chandeliers.
