I have another post similar to this one but wanted to revisit my dress regret. I purchased my dress at a Priscilla of Boston store just 2 weeks before they closed. I got a great deal on it ($300!!!) and it fits almost perfectly (just needs to be hemmed and bustle put it). But it definitely wasn't the dress I had in mind. My FH likes the idea that it's strapless because that what he really likes- he hasn't seen it yet but I have told him what it looks like. But I'm feeling like it's too plain or something. The stock photo's show it in white and I bought it in ivory. I also bought the matching veil that has the same lace detail along the sides.

I would love to hear the hive's opinion! Thanks in advance!

p.s. sorry for the extra large pics!

I love it! It's gorgeous. Yeah it's not super frilly and fancy, but that's why is so beautiful, it's a classically beautiful dress. If it was mine I'd probably use some of the money you saved from getting such an awesome deal to buy a diamonte sash to add some bling. Check out etsy for some fabulous ones. Also I love French bustles. Also also, are you wearing a petticoat in these photos?

I agree...a sash or a statement necklace could really make it come alive!

IT is a lovely dress and while it is plain you can easily jazz it up

How about a large flower pinned at the waist on the side, or a beaded belt.

a big statement necklace would also look great,

I would go check out etsy.

@Roux:  I hadn't thought about a diamonte sash but that's a great idea! It could bring that little extra something that I was looking for!

It is a beautiful dress.  I would not call it plain, I would call it classic and elegant.

What kind of dress did you have in mind?

Yeah, plus for 300 dollars, you have room in that budget to sparkle it up!

@LittleRiver:  I think I had something more romantic in mind with a little more lace. Although all the pics I have showed the FH of lacy dresses he hates! hahah

It is a lovely dress, but the bodice doesn't seem to be sitting quite right. Perhaps it's just that your underwear isn't really helping, but it seems to be dragging your bust down and not really flattering your waist. That isn't to say that it couldn't, but perhaps a little alteration beyond a bustle and a hem would help a lot.

A simple sash on the waist might also help a lot, draw attention to the waist a little.

    @SpecialSundae:  agreed

I think you may need to get the bodice taken in a bit.

@SpecialSundae:  Yeah I think it's actually my boobs haha. You can't really tell from these picture but I normally wear a siz 34 DDD bra- I don't have a bra on with the dress though. I'm not sure bringing in the bodice will help that or make me look like I'm busting out which I definitely do not want!

I absolutely love your dress.  And I agree with PPs - you can wear fun accessories like a statement necklace or sash to add more bling if you want.  It's seriously so beautiful and classic!

@Soon2bSykes:  If you take it in slightly under the bust it should help support your breasts and lift them. Even with a normal bra, the weight should be supported by the band under the bust rather than the straps.

I'm a 34F, so I'm not too bad with tricks to support mine. :)

I think it's classic and elegant! Don't ditch the dress! If you want more pizazz add some sparkle with a belt or necklace (or awesomely blingly heels) but you can never go wrong with simply elegant....it will last a lifetime!

That's a beautiful dress.  I think once you see yourself all "jacked up" with the veil and jewelery, you might feel it more.

This dress is very elegant and it fits you perfectly.

Did you try it with a very thin sash?  It might also help finish the look.

I agree, it's beautiful on you.  With a sparkly belt or brooch at the waist, it will look fab! Try that before deciding to look for something else.

It's beautiful! You could definitely glam it up with a sash, headband, earrings or necklace or something! I love the dress.

That dress is super beautiful!  it's simple and elegant and it fits gorgeous on you (I must say, it looks much better on you than on the model.. and I love the Ivory much more too)..

Adding an ivory sash/belt with a lot of bling is a great idea! It will make the dress look absolutely gorgeous..  I'd go for one like this (though perhaps a thinner strip): Been battling some serious dress regret...help??? (pic heavy) : wedding Kate Me Encanta
