In case you didn’t read, FI and I had a little bit of a tiff in regards to his one task this wedding planning process, plan the dinner he wanted. Long story short: he assumed he knew all and the restaurant we intended to use for dinner booked up. We went on a mission trying to find something we could afford and think we would like. It was difficult since either a lot of places couldnt accomodate 40 ppl or were already booked. We settled on a place in the Venetian.
Originally we intended to transport our guests from the ceremony at Caesar’s to the off strip restaurant 2 miles. The Ventian is less than half a mile away, is this walkable or should we still provide transportation? It will be evening in December so I imagine weather alone would say shuttle people. FI seems to think people can walk.
Thanks for the help!

December is cold in Vegas (well, depends on where you’re from, haha). It is walkable, but it’s a pretty long walk, because the hotels are HUGE. You have to cross a bridge walkway to get over the very large road (the Strip). If everybody had flat shoes and are properly dressed, I’d say walkable. I would not want to do it in heels.

As long as it’s not raining, definitely walkable! Although in Vegas, limos are just as cheap as taxis (if not cheaper, if you consider that taxis only carry 4 people and you will probably require multiple taxis) so I think either could be an option depending on the needs (and/or attire) of your guests.
BTW, the Venetian is beautiful! I’m sure you all will have a fabulous dinner!

We walk the strip every time we go, I think it would be no problem. But December in Vegas can get reallllly cold though, I was freezing in my little dress last December just walking from one casino to the next. I probably would do the limo considering if people wear heels and the weather.

Thank you all for the advice! I knew we wouldnt be able to walk. Thats a man for you..lol. We priced cabs at %100 round trip. I know no limo would come close. But for 40ish ppl for 3 hours, can anyone suggest a place?

I really think that if people spend the time and money to attend your wedding you should provide a huttle sevice to take them to the reception. We have lots of limo companies that will offer this service. this way all the guest are showing up at the same time and not straggling in one by one.

I live here. I would suggest providing transportation. It’s walkable but I wouldn’t want to do it in December, dressed up and in heels.

Ditto what Aure said. Caesar’s and Venetian are both huge properties and it is a goodly walk and in heels and Dec can be quite chilly. Contact Caesar’s and see if they can assist you in which shuttle company to hire. If you need help PM me.
