@FutureMrsW413:  Do you or FI have a favorite liquor store you frequent or gas station you use that has a beer cooler? We struck up a deal with a local liquor store for our wine and gas station we fill up at regularly and they gave us a nice discount for continued business. Also- I don’t see anything wrong with a guest book.  Maybe you can get a chalkboard set out on the table with a cutesy saying to get people to help give  you their info.

1. Guest Book at Engagement Party – I think this is a great idea.  Don’t listen to FMIL.  Put it out with a nice little note in a frame letting people know that you would like for them to enter in their address and phone number to make invitations.  Bear in mind though, everyone who signs this book is going to expect an invitation.

2. What’s a fair price?  A keg of beer typically runs $60-$100 plus tax and a deposit on the keg ($50-100) and rental of the pump ($10-20) and ice tub ($15-30) if necessary.  If you have your own keg and pump that should save you on the deposits.  Call around your local grocery stores and package stores to see who has the best deal; you could also ask a local frat/college student (they tend to keep up with keg prices more so than the average adult.)
