@lina010:  I honestly have no idea, the venue workers probably ate any leftovers because we didn’t take any home.

I purposely ordered a smaller cake so we wouldn’t have this problem, wedding cakes are expensive enough!

Yes and I wish we had gone with a larger cake (serves 75, we had 50 guests).  My wedding party was staying with me and we devoured the remaining cake within a couple of days.  I’m sure this isn’t normal, but we LOVE cake…..breakfast of champions lol.

We thought we wouldn’t have enough — so we had an extra cake in the back (a little larger than a topper).

We never sliced it– but we got rid of everything else!

Ugh. I sure will. My fiance is getting his own groom’s cake made of a black rum cake that everybody I know pretty much hates. He insists that his family will eat it and we can give it away in little baggies as favors. Yeah, whatever but I don’t want to see ANY of it in my house after the wedding.

We had the top layer (to save of course) and about half of the second layer. It was a lot of cake for just us to eat in the few days before heading out for our honeymoon.

I definitely would not have ordered a smaller cake, just wish more people had taken seconds!

@Overjoyed:  Is he West Indian? My mom wants me to do this and I refuse!

I didn’t go with a traditional American cake but a French creampuff tower. As such, because we wanted it to be really tall and dramatic, we knew we would have a ton of leftover dessert. No, we wouldn’t have gone with a smaller tower because it wouldn’t have been as amazing. LOL

@gelaine22: we both are. And black cake will always be gross to me.

You know….I never asked what happened to our cake. I’m guessing we either didn’t have any left, or people took it home?  DH and I left before everyone else did!

@lina010:  yes, it’s still in my parents’ freezer. The Viennese cakes went right away but the wedding cake is still there. Yuck!
