Okay so my boyfriend went out to run errands and I was questioning him what errands he would need to run on the weekend, as usually the errands he needs to run are to things that aren’t open on the weekends or something. Anyways he said he needed to run errands and then he was going to hang out with his best friend for a little bit to figure out what days they’re going to paint his friend’s house that his friend is moving into this weekend.
Anyways when he gets back, he sat on the couch and asked me how much I loved him. I was confused and said that was a stupid question because he knows how much I love him. He then asked me if I wanted to “play husband and wife”…and I was still confused. I said I didn’t want to “play” husband and wife but wanted to be husband and wife, but that we aren’t even engaged yet so that’s not possible for me. He smirks and says “Well do you want to try something on?” and I turned to him and said “If that is your proposal I say no.” He then says that I was so concerned about sizing since I had gone a half size under what I was originally wanting (because the person helping us was more comfortable with that and said to try it because sizing it up half a size would be easier than sizing it down….and we sized my fingers when it was colder and I know my fingers swell in the summer so I was nervous but tried it anyways)……and he said he picked up the ring and if I wanted to try it on and see it, I could before he hides it before the proposal. My suspections were right, and he is going to have to have it sized up a half size…..I’d love for it to be before the proposal so I can wear it and show it off, as I don’t know how long sizing takes. IF ANYONE KNOWS, information is appreciated! 🙂
BEES, THE DAMN RING IS IN THE HOUSE!!!!!!!! 😀 Now to just await the proposal……hopefully soon!!!!! I am beyond excited!

YAYYY! This is the hardest part now, knowing it’s so close but not knowing when! My engagement ring only took 4 days to be resized. Be patient, paint your nails and let us know how it goes!! xx

2 weeks is the standard time! That’s how long it’s going to take my wedding band to be resized.

@aithinne: If he gets it sized soon I’m okay with it! I just don’t want to have to wait after the proposal 🙁 I want to be able to show it off and sit and stare at it heheheh 🙂 Did you have yours sized up or down?
@HopefulSim: I will keep you guys updated! I don’t think it’ll be too long now.
@Missy_Star: Oh my goodness it will be SOOOOO hard. I am trying so hard not to get too antsy. Looks like I’ll have to re-start a couple hobbies to distract myself! Thanks for your input on the sizing…did you have it sized up or down? I get gel polish onmy nails, so they’re always painted – gotta keep up on them better in case…..lol I don’t want them to be growing out too much like they are now.
@Cynderbug: Thank you! 🙂
@Soon2BD-CBee: Thank you! 🙂
@Bettyboo1982: Oh I am already going nuts! I knew when we ordered it that he wouldn’t be able to keep it away from me when he picked it up……he’s not good at keeping seecrets at all.

@NicoleLyn1218: It was sized up, from a 6.75 to an 8. My fingers swell horribly. I actually need a 7.75 but get the 8 to cover the swell factor.

@NicoleLyn1218: Oh that’s SO exciting!!! I dropped my RHR off to be resized the same day we ordered my E-ring and was given a 2 week turnaround time for the resize.
I am nervous that the e-ring we ordered won’t fit too, since when the jeweler sized me he wanted to go lower in size even though I told him how much my fingers tend to swell. Plus I worry that the split shank setting we picked will need to be a bit bigger than the small sizing ring. I’ll be beside myself if after waiting the 3 weeks to have it made I have to wait another 2 to have it resized!

@aithinne: maybe because you went up more than a size it took so long? I don’t know. Either way, I’m just excited to get it and hope he resizes it before he proposes.
@jessicadarling: thank you!!! I hope so too!
@Future_Mrs_C25978: that is comforting to know!! I don’t know when he is going to take it in but I hope it is soon because I don’t want to have to wait for it once we are engaged hehe. Oh the problems we face. hahahaha I’m just excited to get it!!! Eeee! Thank you for your input too. It’s comforting to know that it wouldn’t take 2 weeks all the time everywhere…some places it might or depending on how busy they are at the moment or something I guess. Haha.
@KDOS: how much do you need it sized?? I’m gonna just have him do it 0.75 up because I dont want it to be all super tight in the summer. I just put my RHR on my left hand (do it all the time lol) that is a size ten and its fine and when I shake my hand it won’t slip. I want sit a little tighter than that for the summer especially and I can get a spacer if needthe for the winter. And I have heard that adding the wedding bands makes it a little tighter even if it is the same size as the e-ring. Ya know? I hope your ring doesn’t have to be resized when you get it!!!! Joelle it’s perfect!!
@Asia: thank you! I need to really do that…soon it will start the insane stressful times of planning. Woo!

@NicoleLyn1218: My RHR was a 9.5, having it resized to an 8.5 since it was falling off & I couldn’t wear it anymore. Decided to have it rhodium plated too since it’s over 10 years old and the white gold had taken on a yellow gold tint. That could be partly to blame for the 2 week turnaround for that ring.
We ordered a 7.5 for my E-ring (based on recomendations from 2 different jewelers). I was hesitant, but finally agreed. The e ring had to be custom made to fit our stone & it should hopefully be done in the next week or so, and hopefully it fits. We ordered the wedding band at the same time so I hope they fit together. I’m super anxious for it to get here, because even though he wanted me to choose my ring, he wants to wait for it to get here to ask my dad, so we have to wait until then to officially be engaged.
Also, one of my good friends just got engaged and needed her ring sized up. Her jeweler was able to get it done in 2 or 3 days since they knew she was newly engaged and anxious to have it back.
