@WhiteWedding:  Wow, was it a reputable company?  If so I would call their main office, find out if they can track it?  And in the mean time…..create something romatic in another way.  Get take out and set up a picnic dinner with candles on a blanket?  I know it sucks not being able to have it the way you envisioned it but try and make the best of it Smile

Wow, i’m so sorry!

Could you leave a message with them saying you’ll be seeking legal advice if your items are not there by ____? Maybe that will make them contact you and hopefully make them deliver your things immediately.

Oh my gosh!!  I am sorry that happened.  There is no excuse at all for such crappy service!!  I just don’t get how they could screw up so badly!  I hope you get some answers soon & that you are able to have a good Thanksgiving.  ((hugs))!

@Lovemelovemyhorses:  Yes I agree. What does it say in your contract about delivery? It must be at the point where you could seek legal counsel?

This also happened to my grandparents when they moved from California to Texas… the driver just QUIT about half way and never called the company! Left the 18 wheeler full of stuff at a truck stop it was ridiculous. The company finally got it tracked downafter 1.5 months but they never recovered 2-3 of the boxes which of course had family photos. So sorry this is happening and I’d call the BBB!

Oh lord, that was us a few years back. When my SO moved from Canada to the US, it took over 3 weeks and SO MANY CALLS to get his things. Same kind of issues – dispatch didn’t pick up, we got told one day and time and then another, another, another. Things did finally arrive safe and sound (although the driver’s second mover quit on him and the driver wouldn’t move anything big inside the house so we and the new neighbors pitched in…ugh).

Next time you call, mention legal action. We did and got a more precise timeline (which they nearly stuck to) within 10 minutes. This has to be one of the most frustrating situations in the world, because they just refuse to give a straight answer and always pass it off to someone else. We’re moving my stuff down in a Uhaul because I can’t stand long-haul movers anymore.

Best of luck! Have a picnic tomorrow and keep making your calls. I’m certain it’ll show up, but I know it’s so upsetting and frustrating.

aww! I am so sorry. I would be soooo steamed.

Scream loud and long then blow out a deep breath and let the neighbors know that no you arent being killed :p Then set out to have the best non traditional Thanksgiving ever. Have a nice meal {takeout or restaurant} give each other foot massages, have amazing sex, take a walk, join the Black Friday madness. Whatever it takes to build amazing memories. This is the perfect opportunity to start your own unique Thanksgiving traditions. Think outside the box. I would definitely try the amazing sex one though :p

OP- I’m so sorry to hear this! I would call the company and the first person you get I’d threaten legal action. At this rate you could have gotten a huge uhaul and drove to CA yourselves!

Yes I would threaten legaL action. And then have a great picnic thanksgiving. So sorry this is happening to you. And I would leave a negative review on their website and call the BBB and leave a permanent mark there.

Think of this as one of the many challenges you will be facing as a couple! Hope you get through it with as much grace as your wedding!Cool

I’m sure your stuff will turn up! It’s like lost luggage, you don’t know how it happens, but somehow it always appears.

In the meantime, BE THE SQUEAKY WHEEL!!! Threaten with a lawyer. It’s the only thing that has worked for me in the past.

@WhiteWedding:  Inform them you are filing a police report. Then if they still act shady, do it. Obviously in the area you came from/where thier office is located
