Hi,
I don't think you will no. That's why you like this dress ~ because it's expensive and therefore it's quality you like how it feels. And, it looks great on you. I reckon you've found the one!
A lot depends on how much more it is than you were willing to spend. Is your budget $1500? Then I could see splurging a little. But if this is $750 or more over budget I would keep looking. The price tag doesn't include alterations, accessories, shoes, etc. I am sure the construction and materials are really high quality, but the style of dress (strapless lace with sash) is pretty common, and I'm sure you could find something that looks similar for less money.
It's gorgeous! I didn't get a lace dress but after seeing so many, I wish I did!
@srast: Thanks so much for your feedback - I think I'm also a bit confused about what exactly my budget is :) We have about $2400 set aside for all attire, hair, makeup, trials for both, taxes, shoes, alterations, etc. I don't think FI is going to buy a new suit, maybe just new shirt and tie. I guess I was hoping to come in really under-budget after trying on a Maggie dress that was decent for $800. ideally I'd like to keep it under $1000 but know there is some wiggle room in there.
It's a beautiful dress, and looks great on you! I agree, though, it depends how much your original budget was & how much is "a bit more" than what you were willing to spend. What about this dress from David's Bridal? http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Strapless-sweetheart-beaded-lace-trumpet-with-shirred-tulle-bodi_Bridal-Gowns-Features-Designer-Gowns-Oleg-Cassini I know it's not exactly the same, but has the sweetheart neckline and made of lace, and is 850 rather than 1750. Just an idea; it may not seem similar at all, but I thought it had a lot of the same elements; then again, it's not my dress. I think if it was pretty close to your budget, go for it, especially if there's no alterations that are going to be needed.. but if it was pretty well over the budget, you may want to shop around.
@kt23525: Thanks for the suggestion! I'll definitely look around at some cheaper options and maybe come back to this if I don't like them - I still have a bit of time. Thanks everyone!
I think this style and cut is gorgeous on you! I selected "yes", but I think you could find something very similar for less $$$--but of course that takes time!
If you know that this is what you want, go for it--either splurge for this or search for a less-spendy version.
Yes, absolutely. It happens to be a very popular style and I've seen similar (but unique in its own self right) on plenty of websites. So, if you go dress shopping and bring this picture - they'll be able to give you the same dress (or one you will love better!) for a better price. Alfred Angelo is my fav ... davids bridal has a large selection, but customer service is 50/50.
The only thing is that if you find it somewhere else, you will probably have to order it and wait for it to arrive. Then comes alterations depending on size to your body type of that dress.
Good luck!
Dresses from places like David's Bridal and Alfred Angelo really just don't compare in terms of fabric quality. I would look around on websites like Maggie Sottero...they sell beautiful dresses that are very high quality, but you can buy most of their lace dresses for that price brand new (not the sample). If you find some that are similar in style to this one that you want to try on, start calling bridal salons in your area and asking if they have them. This one is very pretty though, and it fits you like a glove!
check out Karena Royale by Maggie Sottero! it's also an A-line, all lace lace dress and i believe it's no more than $900!

Hi all -
(I know I just had this post up, but wanted to re-post the pics anonymously, so have to repost from scratch.. sorry!! Please re-vote!)
I went shopping again last night and am seriously considering this dress! However it's a bit more than I was hoping to spend (they will sell it to me for $1750) but it fits so well and the lace and construction are really high quality. Also, please note there are no clips or anything holding it on - this is the dress I would buy and would need minimal alterations. Do you think I can find something like this for cheaper without sacrificing quality?
What do you think??
