So my main issue is that at this point in my life my husband & friends are very social & happy hours/drinks all day at the pool/ and bar hopping nights are a weekly occurance.
I have been on weight watchers for a 6 weeks now & all is going great! Very happy with the program, but I am at the point where I am fustrated because I keep spending all my “extra weekly points” on booze, and sometimes I would just like to spend it on pizza or a hamburger, haha!
So for you girls on WW, who live a “party kind of lifestyle” how do you manage your points?

My sister who is on WW has had to make changes to her activities to not drink so much because she cant “just have soda water instead”
When she does go out she waits out the first round or two with an unsweetened Ice Tea to help delay the drinks, but mostly she has found other activities to do with her friends. She has a friend who also wants to lose weight and so they will go for a walk around the reservoir, or cook dinner together etc. She tends to drink wine, but sometimes shell drink a vodka and soda water (tonic has calories and diet drinks have lots of research that your body reacts as if were not diet) and adds extra soda water so it takes longer to drink.
She had found that she wasnt losing weight if she spent all her extra points on alcohol because not all calories are the same. Your body does treat them differently. She is now down 35 (mayeb 40) lbs in a slow and steady method since last October.

I do not do this anymore but when i was younger and on WW this is what I would do:
When I knew I am going to go out, i typically ate salads and light for the day. I would try to not eat big meals that way 1. i was not using points up and 2. my stomach was emptier, making it easier to get a buzz
Probably not the best WW tactics, but it worked for when I wanted to get a good buzz but not feel that guilty with my WW

@BrookieCookie9: Haha!! Yep, thats what I do – which is why I think I’m still loosing weight on the program considering how much I am still drinking.
@ThreeMeers: That is a really good idea, I also drink soda water, and I can order them tall (but not a double) so that it takes me longer to drink one. Thanks!

Volunteer to be the DD so you will be encouraged to drink less. Order plain vodka (80 proof) with Diet Coke for only 64 calories; 128 for those doubles (not sure with the new points system how many points.)
Detox for a few weeks. This works really well. Don’t drink at all for two or more weeks in a row. Then only drink on the weekends. This dropped my tolerance really low so that I was happy dirnking 1-2 drinks rather than (insert really high number here.) I also second eating light that day since it will make less drinks more potent but be careful here to count; I ended up having to measure out my shots myself to make sure I wasn’t overindulging based on my prior tolerance level.
