@officialeboni:  It helps us to come up with ideas if you tell us something about your wedding.

@officialeboni:  We did customized M&M’s from their website. We used all three of our colors and put our names and photos on them.  I wouldn’t recommend the photos though because you couldn’t really see ours. I think a 2 pound bag of customized M&M’s was 80 bucks. Then I just purchased some tulle and ribbon from the craft store to wrap them in.

@officialeboni:  Whatever you are considering giving as a favor just ask yourself…would my guests really use this?  I found some super cute ideas that go with my theme but I dont see the guests at my wedding using them..they might just get thrown away.  Something universal that everyone likes is food.  We are doing gourmet popcorn and candy as favors….you could do cupcakes..cake balls…etc..

I struggled for months with favors….I wanted to do favors so bad, but I never really found anything AWESOME that people would actually use, and that wouldn’t cost a fortune.  In the end I didn’t do favors and nobody noticed!  Wish I had some good ideas!

I  also looked everywhere for a different idea for the party favors. I finally found something on a web site for message stones which I thought was really nice since in my centepieces there are rocks with water, a small flower and then a floating candle.

So, what I did is I bought a whole bunch of rocks or stones from the dollar store. I bought a whole bunch of different colors of acrylic paint. I painted each rock and wrote in white a little saying on each rock. For example, I wrote .You are loved. or Enjoy this day; Have faith, and on 20 rocks (because there will be 20 ppl at our small wedding) I wrote the date, month and year of our wedding.

Then, I painted the rocks with a glossy finishing varnish. I bought little cotton pouches from the dollar store to put the rocks inside them. Believe me, the rocks are so cute. they actually look like candies in those pouches. Finally, i bought some nice tissue and I will wrap the little pouches with the rope which I will add a beautiful little bead too. I’m thinking of adding a little chocolate to all of this.

I wish I could take a picture of the finsih product but I really don’t know how to download it to this forum but believe me, these party favors look really sweet. Oh I forgot, I’m also writing a little note (taht will be in a form of a schroll)  that I will put inside the pouch with the rocks. The note will say something like: “These message stones have been showing up everywhere in the world from Paris to Montreal. You can keep these rocks or leave them on a bench, in a bus, at the office or at the beach for strangers to pick them up. But whatever you decide to do with these little rocks, know that they were hand painted for you with love”.

It is true that there is a new trend in Europe about these rocks or stones being left everywhere.

Hope you will like this idea. It was a fun project to do.

I am from NH/VT and FI is from Michigan. So, we are doing pure VT maple syrup (boiled by a friend) and Traverse City cherry preserves (we will make ourselves this summer). I am doing matching labels to put on the containers: “Love is sweet” for the syrup, “Spread the love” for the preserves. My theme is burlap and lace.

Wow Pumpkin, those are really, really nice and sweet.

I was thinking of putting my little message rocks in a burlap form pouch but when I went to the tissue store, the lady told me some people could be alergic to burlap and also it has a smell. That is why I changed my mind but I would have really enjoyed burlap. Your favors look super nice.
