@lemiller:  We’re getting our e-pics done a few days before Christmas. I think I’m going to wear dark skinny jeans, tall brown leather boots, and probably a cream sweater. Maybe a scarf, also.

FI will probably wear jeans and a gray, 3 button sweater.

I don’t really want to take pics in our coats.

We have the option of a wardrobe change, but will probably not take it. It’s going to be really cold and we won’t have anywhere to change except in the car.

@lemiller:  haha definitely! We’re going to have our Boxer in some of our pics too!

Where are you getting yours taken?

We’ll be going to a Christmas tree farm for some and a small town nearby for the others. The town has a really cute downtown area that is always decorated so nicely for the holidays!

Actually, I just remembered we will be doing a wardrobe change. We’re HUGE hockey fans, so we’re going to take some pics in our hockey sweaters (what they call jerseys in the hockey world)!

@lemiller:  We’re doing an anniversary session this weekend (yayy!!!) and I’m wearing skinny jeans with leather riding boots, a loose drape-y shirt, and a cute scarf. If for some reason the weather is warm (it’s been really inconsistent lately – some days in the 50s, some days in the 70s) I have a cute long-sleeved striped dress I might wear with the same pair of leather riding boots.

Can I offer some advice from my experience taking engagement pics? If at all possible, do at least one outfit change. I wore 3 outfits to ours, and I am only happy with how 1 of them photographed. I wore a blue dress, and in photos it looks way to short and my bra strap kept sliding out and is very visible in a couple photos. And I wore a pair of jeans with a sleeveless blouse, but I don’t like how the jeans fit in photos, they look too baggy around the knees. The only outfit I love in photos was the skirt and sleeveless shirt I changed into last.  Maybe my problems could’ve been avoided by having my now-DH take photos of me in the 3 outfits to see how they looked – that might be another option, if you can’t do an outfit change?

we took our e-pics about this time of the year. here, in Michigan, its freakin’ cold already — so these are the outfits we wore:

pea coats, scarfs, fun hats, lots of texture/ print in neutrals, and layers — they photograph really well.

We didnt go the “matchy matchy” route (with the exception of our black coats– unintentional) at the suggestion of our photographer, and I’m really glad we listened. She also said to avoid white during this time of year as it doesnt mesh weill with the fall/winter coloring outside.

(please disregard the random text on the photos, these are old uploads from when i was playing with save the date ideas–)

I just had mine two weeks ago, this was our first outfits, don’t have a good one of our second outfits yet…But I wore a red dress and he wore a red/green/white plaid shirt, charcoal sports coat and nice jeans.  The photo quality isn’t very good b/c I don’t have my digital copies yet, just copied this from my photographers blog (Ann + Kam Photography Chicago).

@MichiganGirl24:  yeah, we did the whole outfit change thing outside, in Michigan, in november– we strategically chose to quick change as cars werent passing down the dirt road we parked along– made it interesting, to say the least!

@blondie_bride:  Ha! We’ll be getting ours done in MI too! That’s where we’re from, but we currently live in Ohio.

I’m hoping for snow!

FI and I did ours at dawn last Saturday and the temp was around freezing with a brisk wind. We wore sweaters covered with leather jackets. His is black with charcoal stripes down the arms and mine is maroon I also had a stripey scarf. We were going to take the jackets off and take some pics in just the sweaters, but it was way too cold for that. We were icecubes by the end of the session, it took me at least 45 minutes to warm back up when we got inside. I’m so glad I remembered a thick fleece blanket that we used for sitting on the ground. From what he showed us on the camera I think the jackets looked really good, can’t wait to see our previews at the end of the week.

@lemiller:  Well, we got engaged a while ago but were on the fence about engagement pics. We finally decided to take some, and we’re going to wait until December. We’re each going to have a cuple of outfit changes, and I think I might have chosen my first one.

I’m thinking of wearing this dress with a black fur shrug (it looks real but it’s fake, don’t worry bees!) and some black heels. I haven’t decided on jewellery or accessories yet. I know this isn’t the most seasonally appropriate outfit but oh well.
