    Hi Bees,

Any suggestions on where to get an inexpensive cupcake or cake stand? I've been back and forth between cake or cupcakes and this cupcake stand issue seems to be the deciding factor. I just can't see paying over $100 for a nice cupcake stand.

    I welcome any suggestions.

Funny you should post this, I had a hard time figuring out where to get one at.

It is being used for ONE day, so I ordered mine yesterday at Saveoncrafts.com

300 cupcake stand, $36.  You can spray paint it, put ribbon on it, just about anything you would like to or just keep it plain.

Yes it is cardboard, but the BEST deal I have found!!!!! Hope I have helped you.

@Carolyn72: you know, it's really funny that you posted this response. I say so, because this is my plan "anyway" to order this same stand..BUT me being me, I keep wondering if there's something else out there that I'm missing. But, you're right I should just stick with the basics and pretty it up the way I want it to be.

    Thanks!

You can rent them from many venues or bakeries- also party rental places.

I have used this type of cupcake stand. They look very plain without the cupcakes but very pretty when the cupcakes are added. You can also decorate them by gluing ribbon around the edge.

I am going to use the cupcake vendor that we were gonna use for our wedding cupcakes (cupcakes4less.com) (we're doing cake now). I figured the stand will come assembled and decorated. Plus, since its for my friends baby shower when they're done using it, my friend can keep it and reuse it for other events she has. BTW: this shower is  two weeks before my wedding (am I a crazy person or what :-) Anyway, thanks for the advice.

You can DIY them pretty easily, but for a large number you'll need to have a few stands which can look pretty cute. With the cardboard ones you have to be careful, they can be a bit tipsy if the cupcakes aren't arranged properly!
