we provided out own bar but stuck to beer wine and champagne. The less options the better. So if you add a couple liquor items limit to 3-4 different ones (Rum, Vodka, Whiskey, etc) The more elaborate the bar the more $$$ you spend. I had 80 people and we spent about $350 and still had some left over to take home.

My suggestion is that you want certain drink with certain alcohols limit to 3 different drinks of each alcohol (Ex. Vodka- vodka redbull, vodka water, vodka cranberry) and if you can find some mutual mixers for each alcohol that would be great too (Ex: OJ in a Screwdriver also use OJ with champagne for a mimosa) Look into holiday sales. I started stocking up on our alcohol about 6 months in advance (mostly wine and champagne and beer was about 1-2 months before)

Hope that helps.

Won’t your venue help you estimate quantities?  Ours did for our consumption bar.
