What did you think of the season opener? It was a hell of a show…so heartwrenching! I will admit though, I spent the first 10 minutes thinking I had missed an episode somewhere because I felt like they just plopped you right in the middle of a day a few months down the road from the plane crash and I couldn’t remember what had happened to each of them…other than the pilot and Lexi being dead. Oh, poor poor Mark. That absolutely KILLED me!! SO SAD. And Arizona?? Jeeeze they still know how to get me…I know many people have fallen off the Grey’s wagon long ago but I’m still here, hanging on tight! I can’t wait to see what happens!

I knew McSteamy was leaving because there was an announcement this summer that Eric Dane didn’t renew his contract, but they didn’t say if he’d be killed off or just written out. I still totally teared up when he finally died. It was JUST SO SAD. I missed the last few seasons while they aired but I caught up during my lunch breaks this summer (thanks Netflix!).

@misspeanut: Oh see, I never came across anything about Eric Dane’s contract so that makes sense. I knew whoever plays Lexi Grey wasn’t renewing…but then again I also knew she was dead back in May. I probably just forgot but I TOTALLY was taken by surprise to see Dr. Sloan on life support. Oh lorddd that was so sad. So so sad!

I cried through the whole thing.
Today I rewatched the plane crash episode, both shooting episodes, and both episodes where George dies. Ugh. So depressing.

But I don’t like that they jumped ahead. It would’ve made more sense to follow the progression of the crash – which I heard they’re doing next week. It’s just weird.

@cmbr: Wow, you really know how to wallow, don’t you?
I do the same thing–GA is the only series DH has literally removed from the house because if I get in the right mood, I’ll just sit there and cry all afternoon. So if he senses it coming, he brings it to work with him.
I cried all night last night, even though I knew McSteamy was leaving. I sort of hoped he would just leave Seattle, but not be dead, you know?
DH tried to comfort me saying “At least he’s with Lexi now” but that didn’t help. I didn’t like them skipping forward either, but I can deal. It’s not my least favorite thing they’ve ever done. (Reed from Mercy West anyone?)
Also, my daughter is named Lexi (from Grey’s Anatomy) and my stepson is named Mark. (Coincidence.) I get SO WEIRDED OUT that they’ve now killed people that have the names of both of my kids. One of our potential boy’s names is Owen but I’m just so nervous about it now…

@MrsDrRose612: We just finished the last season on Netflix and when last night’s episode started, DH was like, “Did we miss a season!?” It was really confusing at first the way they jumped ahead. I’m sad about Mark, but I don’t think he’d have wanted to live without Lexi anyway. 🙁 At first we assumed Arizona didn’t survive so we were like “whoa” when we saw her.

I don’t like how next weeks episode is about the crash either, I would have preferred it the other way around. I was a little confused, too. I have a feeling that Christina will be back at Seattle Grace very soon though….
and boo I didn’t know about Eric Dane :(((

I have been watching this show since the very first season. I have all but the last season of dvds. Its always been “My show”..ya know, the one that FI has no choice but to turn football off to watch with me. Well, its gone down hill and sadly I think it will all be coming to an end soon.
I am sad Lexi and Sloan are gone, I loved them. I love love love Christina/Mer’s friendship, it reminds me so much of my bestie and I. So I am sad they arnt at the same hospital anymore..
I really hope next week will be better than last night…

I was really confused the whole episode. I’m sad Mark died and I feel like this is going to be a really tough season for Callie. I feel bad that so many people she loved have died. I think Christina will be back really soon. I’m really curious about what happened after the crash and how long they were stranded for. I hate when shows spoil endings for me though, so I think I’ll have trouble watching any episodes from right after the crash since I know what happens now.
ETA: I’m not sure how Callie could have amputated Arizona’s leg since they’re married. Aren’t you not allowed to operate on family members? Or maybe she just made the call to have it amputated? Ug too many questions.

@asscherlover: Hahaha, it’s a show. I guess they can’t always be correct. Rofl. That is true though. Callie probably wouldn’t have been able to amputate Arizona’s leg. But hey, more drama for us!
Also, I don’t think they’ll probably go back to the crash. They might’ve just fast forwarded it to a month later.

@MrsJenBee: In the promo for episode 2, it looks like they cover what happened right after the crash: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=je7smfqo7C0
It was HEARTBREAKING! Mark!!! 🙁
I hope Callie and Arizona can reconcile and Cristina gets on a train or something back to Seattle! Although the dynamic at her new hospital was pretty amusing… I couldn’t help thinking of those two other doctors as characters from their other shows (Rex from Desperate Housewives and Mr. Feeny from Boy Meets World, lol).

@Regina Phalange: Oh WOW. Daaaannnnnggg. I guess it makes sense they would not let go of a drama opportunity like that. Looks like maybe Callie didn’t take her leg, but was supposed to stop them from taking it. Eeeeeeeeeee!

The whole episode i was like “WHAT HAPPENED TO ARIZONA?!!!!” My boyfriend called in the middle of the episode (i was watching it on hulu so i could pause it), and as much as a adore talking to him (we’re LDR), i was thinking “pleeeease call me back in an hour or something, this is important!” hahaha
Oh Grey’s anatomy, how i love thee.
