ladyamalthea:  I lost 32 lbs and several inches over a five months course. I did mostly weightlifting and calisthenics (instead of running or other traditional forms of cardio). I bought my dress as a size 10 (I’m 5’8″), and it was just a tad too small at the time. By the time it came it, it was way too big… Had to be taken in to around a size 6. I thought it had ruined the structure of the dress, because of the major alterations (she had to take in 3+ inches on each side. However, with proper undergarments and such, everything fit perfect! I was not going to let a dress impede my fitness and weightloss… But, everyone has different priorities and some prefer to “maintain” their weight after finding the right dress/fit. Here’s the dress the day I ordered it (same size), and the day it came in (she couldn’t even tie it all the way to the bottom because it was panel to panel).

ladyamalthea:  Thanks! I think you’ll be fine… My dress fit so perfectly (I worried all the way up until I actuay put it on for thesat time), but the biggest thing was my BMs taking awesome care in making sure they tied my corset so particular and well. Otherwise, the midsection/hips would have bunched up a little. Also, the seamstress taking the dress in so much also made the dress a little shorter for some reason (probably because of the fit/flare silhouette). Fortunately, there is SOOOO much forgiveness with corset backs!  Kudos to you on your progress so far! You def won’t regret it!

Then again, I was more concerned about looking hot in my bikini on our honeymoon than I was in my dress! LOL

ladyamalthea:  sounds like my measurements are really close to yours ! When I ordered my dress (before working out/dieting), my measurements were 37-28.5-38 and I weighed 132. The dress I ordered was a good fit at a size 8, but slightly uncomfortable in the hips. I wanted more leg room so I ordered a 10. Turns out that was probably a bad idea…

I’ve been working out and dieting for the past 2 months. My measurements are now 36-27-37.5 and I weigh 126. My dress needs to be taken in EVERYWHERE. The sides are being taken in 1-2 inches from the bust all the way to the thighs. Also, the bottom half of the corset is being converted to a zipper since it closes all the way and I didn’t like the full corset look.

Im nervous about all the changes, but really hoping it ends up looking good!!
