I’m actually in the process of searching for the perfect lashes right now, and would love to hear what others are choosing.

I initially bought the Demi Wispies and some other styles that are always recommended, and they looked absolutely terrible – like I have a house centipede on my face, and my fiance almost fell off the chair laughing. So now ordering some of the “smaller” styles (108, 109, 110, Babies, etc.) to see if any of those will look decent.

So yeah, my advice is to just buy a bunch (Ardells are only about $3 on ebay, Red Cherry even less) of different types and styles and see what fits you best! I was pretty surprised that on my face the demis looked worse than the ones that didn’t get fuller to the edge of the eye – who would have thought?

I used the Ardell singles. My MUA did two full rows of the singles and my eyes looked awesome!

Here’s a pic of my regular, every day makeup:

I really love the individual lashes because you can create everything from a natural look, to a slight enhancement, to a super dramatic look!

s2bmrscook:  How do you apply the singles? I have a hard enough time with regular ones.

Commenting to follow.

I don’t know which ones my MUA used for me but a word of advice is to make sure you don’t have a latex allergy (or that your MUA can accomodate a latex allergy) before you try them out. The usual adhesive is latex based and could cause issues.

Tanleggedjuliet:  I can’t apply them to myself lol! When I put them on a client, I hold the false lashes with tweezers instead of with my fingers and I apply the lashes as close to the lash line as possible as opposed to placing them on the eyelid (where I put eyeliner). Use the adhesive that’s intended for individual lashes (it’s clear and comes in a small bottle rather than a squeeze tube) and give it about 10 seconds to get tacky before you place the lash on the lash line.

s2bmrscook:  Ok, so you have someone else put them on you? How long can you wear once applied?

Tanleggedjuliet:  Yes I have someone else put them on me if I wear them. I don’t wear them every day, maybe once a year. I’ve never made it more than 3 days with them because I take them off, but I’ve heard of people getting 2 weeks out of them

s2bmrscook:  Thanks! I will ask my MUA what she thinks about it. I want to be able to wear all week after the wedding, but if I can’t it won’t be tragic.

After my trial, I’m now a huge fan of singles!  My MUA recommended that I try them when I told her that even though I love the look of false lashes, the full strips sometimes feel like they’re blocking my view and I’m very aware that they’re attached to my lashline.  The singles solved those problems for me and it’s more customizable.

I did my own makeup for my engagement shoot and used half lashes since I wasn’t too familiar on how to do singles on my own.  They worked really well and looked very natural.

thehappiestbridetobe:  I wore ardell strips (110 demi) since I DIY’d my own make up.  However, I’m asian and barely have any lashes of my own, which makes applying them sooo much easier.  Here are some pics

I always use MAC #34. They are longer on the outside which I really like.

These are the lashes I’ll be wearing on my wedding. Can’t wait.
