I’m not sure if this counts since the store does have a bridal line, but I got my dress from JCrew. It was $1100, but I know they have dresses much lower in price (like $400ish).

I haven’t gotten my pro pics back yet and I had an unplugged wedding, so I don’t really have any pictures of myself in the dress. Here it is on the model…

@gromble:  Me!! 🙂 I really like the more simple, flowy dresses and was dead set on finding something comfy and fun. I am in love with this one from Macy’s- I’m attaching a stock photo, but will put up a real picture in the next few days if I can. I ordered it and loved it, but just returned it for a smaller size. And the best part? When I went to exchange it, the price had dropped because of Black Friday…that plus my coupon, and I scored this dress for $62!! I am the happiest person ever! Can’t wait to see the other dresses!

edit: I actually got it from JC Penneys, not Macy’s, but they sell the dress both places!

Mine was a white “evening gown” (although it’s pretty obviously a wedding dress in my mind) from Macy’s.  $110!  I had the same perspective as you, so I ordered a bunch of white long dresses from department stores online that could be returned.  This was totally my style and I’m really happy I went with it.

Mine is from Ever Pretty. I was very adamant about not spending a lot on a dress I’d wear once (and only for a few hours). We’re having a very low key wedding. It’s actually quite nice for the price.

I bought another dress a few months ago that I decided not to wear.. it was also under $100 but I can wear it again (it’s a short blush lace dress) so no biggie.

I’m splurging on my bouquet… that cost over $300!!

Mine was a cheap no-name $134 china dress. (it travelled in a baggage from Hungary to Las Vegas with us, I didn’t want to spend too much…)

Mine was $400 from a store that sells mostly grad dresses near here. Its from the company Juliet, but you have to be a retailer to look at their website. I absolutely loved it, and there were a lot of less expensive options too, any of the dresses could be ordered in white.

I didn’t end up buying a dress from her collection (because a designer friend gifted me with a dress!) but I love the collection from Brazilian designer Tamara Catz, who is now based on Maui. Her dresses have a bit of a Jenny Packham-esque feel, and are almost all less than $1,000:

@maydeco:  Aw thanks!  I’m definitely glad we splurged on photography instead of my dress 🙂

I posted earlier but here is the dress on me– I still love it! I’m 6 ft tall so I’m amazed that I love the dress as-is!! I’m thinking no alterations unless my body changes by the wedding. I’m thrilled!! And in real life lighting (not bad cell phone picture light) it is so floaty and pretty!! I can’t believe this was $62!! With the shoes, the whole outfit is $110!! So thrilled!! 🙂 never thought I’d get a wedding dress at JC Penney’s lol but it was deff the right decision!!!

@lolot: Your dress is so lovely!  I never would have guessed that you didn’t buy your dress at a bridal store – it looks just like the ones I had been looking at for an outdoor country wedding!

@SoonToBeSimmons:  Wow, your dress is truly stunning on you!  I absolutely love it, and would have assumed it was much more expensive.  I love hearing about great deals!  Congrats 🙂

@OP: I found my dress at a budget bridal store, and because it was a previous season, it was on sale, which greatly helped.  Shopping during November-December sales meant I was getting the dress for at least 50% off.  I would say not to give up hope, keep searching, your dress is out there, be it at a bridal store, department store or otherwise!  What is your budget for your dress?  What kind of feel are you looking for?  Good luck and I can’t wait to see what you pick!
