@wildfox21:  I’m sure that canary color is beautiful in person. What do you mean by saying you don’t want it to look fake?

2 ct will be more than large enough with a halo.

Hey have you tried the Tiffany ring finder app? It has a great feature that let’s you “try on” the ring in various sizes. there is one ring very similar to the one you want. Above is a picture of my hand using the app. I also have 5.5 finger. The only problem is the largest you can try is 2.5 (which is in the picture). But that is huge so if you don’t want bigger go for 2 and if you do go for 3. For me I would go with the 2 carat size because with the halo it will be very big. But it’s a personal preference. Anyway hope that helps!

@wildfox21:  I would get whichever you prefer; and it sounds like you prefer the 3ct.

My personal opinion is that anything over 1.5ct can look flashy, particularly when you start adding halos/side stones; and it is likely that your ring may attract attention, and that some may see it as ‘gaudy’. I have a 0.66 tcw diamond cluster measures about 12/13mm at it’s widest point; ie, it gives quite a lot of coverage. It is also very sparkly, and ‘blingy’. It is also not to a lot of people’s tastes because it’s a cluster.

However, I honestly don’t give a flying crap what anyone else thinks lol. I love it, and as I’m wearing it, that’s really all that matters (plus TBF I get a LOT of compliments IRL; a shift at work rarely passes without someone commenting).

So, I think you should go with the ring you love, personally. Yes, some people might think it’s ‘fake’, some might think it’s flashy, but who cares?

Also, FWIW, I would never assume a ring is ‘fake’. I’ve seen some pretty gigantic rings on holiday, and never thought ‘Oh that’s fake’; I just though ‘Wow, awesome ring!’.

@ChloeTM2707:  Oh that’s pretty!! I love it! For reference, my 8.10 mm diamond in a halo setting, with my wedding bands size 5 finger. I think the style you chose will definitley be enough in 8mm:)

I would choose the 8mm but if you want the 9mm, go for it.  It is a beautiful ring!

If in a halo setting, I’d get the 8mm.  That’s plenty!  I have a size 4.5 finger and would only do 9mm if it were a solitaire setting.  But this is just my preference!

By “fake”, do you mean worrying that people will think it’s not a diamond?  If so, I’d most definitely choose the 8mm!

Definitely go smaller! I have a size 5 finger, and my 1 ct solitaire looks big on it… 3 cts with a halo would be WAY huge!

I voted 2 carat.  I think a 3 carat would look more costumey than you’d like, if you’re worried about it looking fake.

    I don’t have a 2 carat, but it’s a 1.70 (7.74 mm) carat diamond center and a size 5 finger.  I think a 2 carat would look perfect on you.

if you really want the 9mm, i’d keep it as a solitare.

if you really want that halo setting, go with the 8mm.

either one i don’t think will look “fake” as you put it.  it is what it is.  it will look like a moissy.  it will look lovely.
