I have great hair and lots of it but how in the hell do I wear it down without it turning into an unruly mess an hour into the wedding? While at the same time not have it be a prom disaster with 100lbs of hairspray.
Bees – share your down do if you have a lot of hair – did it stay where you wanted it?
I want a down do a la lisa marie presley, lana del rey kinda do. My trial is on wednesday and im a bit afraid.

I can’t handle my hair down–I went half down half up!
But I think getting it properly straightened then curled and sprayed would have prevented any problems, if I had gone all the way down!

I went with a half up half down. For prom I did an updo and it lasted for 10 minutes of dancing. With my hair down I would have got too hot and my hair would have been in my face the whole time. Half up/down is the way to go and mine lasted all night.

I didn’t risk it- I wanted to wear it down originally, but put it up in a massive updo and was REALLY happy about it after the fact.

@MeiFrancis: That’s really pretty – yea.
I’m afraid to take the risk too

I have very fine hair but a ton of it and it’s very long, midway between bra and waist. It tangles if you look at it wrong. My hair will have to be done on site and the last thing to be done. If I set foot into a slight breeze, it will be a tangled mess. We are older so our reception won’t be traditional party and dancing, it will be more subdued so that will help as weLl

Same here! I’m doing half up/ half down so I can have the length but have it out of my face!

I knew that I wanted my hair down because I never wear it up and it’s so heavy that I will get a headache if I wear it up. I got married outside on a windy day and then danced my tail off all night. Having my hair professionally done and she used quite a bit of hairspray. It wasn’t shellacked and could move and look natural, just not a tangled mess!

Im not too sure about for your wedding in particular, but I find that if I care for my hair during the week, when I wear it out on the weekend it tends to play nice. To de frizz I use moroccan(spelling?) or argan oil. To make it shiny and healthy I do a coconut oil/honey mask. Apart from that, I try to use fairly natural shampoos and conditioners with no silicon, sulphates etc.. I guess youd really have to ask your hairdresser though. Im sure they can help you out..
