How much of a difference did it make once you saw the dress steamed/pressed?
I pulled the dress out of the bag this past weekend for my first fitting and the pleating was all weird, because I’m assuming it needs to be pressed. I looked back at the pictures taken this past weekend and it just looks “cheap” to me, because it’s all wrinkly and shiny in all the wrong places.
Is this typical? Did steaming/pressing help a lot?

I felt the same way about the dress for my SIL/Brother’s wedding. It came wrinkled and I pressed it. It looked much better!

I wore satin and had no issues once it was pressed. Actually I think the shop just steamed it. It was done before I picked it up and then I didn’t have to do anything to it much after at. The night before the wedding we just lightly steamed over it again.
The shop where you bought your dress should do that befor you pick up your dress once you are all done with alterations!

Steaming definitely helped my dress. My dress shop wouldn’t even let me pick up the dress until the day before the wedding so that it wouldn’t get wrinkled again. They wanted me to wait until I was bringing it right to where I was going to be getting dressed and hang it up right away.
