I just came across this news. It's sad and tangentially related to the forums here. It seems that it's an unfortunate event stemming from a dispute with his FI. During wedding planning times too! Tragic. Although the dispute may or may not be related to wedding planning, it's important to not wedding planning get to the best of us!

Yeah, I feel really bad for Chris Henry and his family.  I know everything is still uncertain about what happened, but what sort of makes me irate is that he was found on the side of the street alone.  Where was his fiance?! He fell out of a vehicle and she kept going and didn't stop to see if he was okay?!

Yeah, it's pretty crazy. Some ppl have a penchant to live on the edge. Not so much us. First, my DH would have never jumped on a moving vehicle. Second, if he did, I would never have kept on driving....(and talk on the phone in the same time!)

I feel extremely sad for him and his family. But I guess I just need more facts as to what exactly happened. You never know what goes on behind closed doors. Hopefully the truth will come to light and his family can begin the long road of healing. He was so young and trying to turn his life around, so very sad.

@pren: exactly when I asked M about it he was like what made him jump in the vehicle?! I was like what made her keep going after he fell out. She could have seen easily that he wasn't getting up.  No one deserves to die on the side of the road along like a dog.  That just makes me sick to my stomach.  I cannot imagine leaving ANYONE let alone the man I am marrying in three months.

    They have 3 kids together!

I hate to speculate, but I wonder if whoever was in the car moved the car too fast and he fell out or if he jumped out or just fell, who knows.

It always amazes me when people's personal disputes get super crazy like this...it never ends well and usually some freaky accident happens.

If she just left him on the side of the road after a fight, she wasn't a very good person to begin with. It's unfortunate that she'll now have to live with that the rest of her life, as do those 3 super cute little kids, and the rest of his family.

That's a crazy situation. Sometimes I get frustrated that FI is calm during arguments and never gets emotional, but stories like this really drive home the point that staying calm during arguments is a good quality to have.

This just makes me completely sick to my stomach. There are three little kids without a father and a murderer for a mother. Unless she was trying to defend her life (Henry did have a history of assault charges), I fully believe that she is guilty of murder. Even if it was self-defense, she DID still leave him on the side of the road to die. I think she should be thrown in jail to rot.

I can't imagine doing that to someone I love and was about to marry (and had THREE KIDS with). I just cannot fathom speeding off, swerving to try to sling him out of the back of a moving truck. And then leaving him on the road to die. It's sick and she deserves to be locked up for life or even the death penalty. How cold-blooded is this entire situation?

I don't even care that I don't know all the facts. At the end of the day, I do know that a very young man is dead, that three very young children are without a father, and their mother was behind the wheel of the truck Chris Henry "came out" of. Not much could change my opinion that she's a cold-blooded murderer.

I don't know the whole story , but i don't know that she ment to kill him. she did leave him on the side of the road, but how was she supposed to know he was dying? Our friend fell out of the back of a truck this summer, (luckily he wasn't very hurt), but we wouldn't have thought he was dying, maybe just broke something. So i can't say that I believe she ment to kill him, or leave him dying. She didn't know.

We don't really know the "truth," so I refuse to pass judgment on her.  When fearing for your life, you don't generally look back.  You RUN.  I might be biased since I've volunteered for a battered women's shelter and a domestic violence clinic.  So, I've learned not to pass judgment on such situations.  If she was afraid of him and was running away to prevent him from hurting her, she clearly was not looking back to see if he was hurt.  She was running for her life.  I wouldn't call her a murderer, just like I wouldn't say he committed suicide.  It sounds like it was a freak accident caused by a domestic violence situation.  These incidents happen all too often.

Life is fragile. I hope everyone has that in the back of their minds. It's so tragic, so scary, so sad. I'm very angry at the situation as a long-time Bengals fan and as a human being with a heart, you know?

This was a really sad story....I read it and was like whoa...that's less than a mile from my house....as a matter of fact...their housing development is actually connected to the back of mine. It's like four or five housing developments build by different builders but connected by the streets.

Oakdale road is VERY curvy and it's very easy to sling somebody off the back of a truck or motorcycle if you are taking that street at a high rate of speed. It's so curvy in fact, that the city of Charlotte is completely realigning that road.

It sounds like an argument gone wrong. I mean he attributed turning his life around to her many times prior to this so it may have been just an argument gone wrong. I am sorry for his family's loss and her family as well.

he was trying to get her to stop, that's why he jumped in the back of the truck.  we all say some things we don't mean when we're angry and i bet they're no different.  he jumped in the truck and said he'd jump out and kill himself if she drove off...

but wouldn't anyone think that their FIANCE would stop rather than endanger their life?  i like to think that mine would.

and, the neighbor said that she hesitated at the end of the driveway.  not that she stopped to look for other cars coming (which wouldnt have required much of a stop for the neighbor to notice anyway and wasnt it at night?  its pretty easy to see headlights at night) ...she hesitated.  that means she knew she was doing something wrong.  and she did it anyway.

i feel sooooooo so bad for those kids.

not to mention, tmz reported that someone involved in planning their wedding had reported that the couple was arguing about wedding finances.  he didnt want to spend too much and he finally left her to do the paperwork after bickering with her IN FRONT OF the wedding planner or whomever that was.

someone so afraid of him probably wouldnt pick a fight with him in public cos if she was afraid of a beating then acting like that over a wedding would probably be a beating later on.

and even if it was self defense... i still think that she didnt have to KILL him.  they were staying with HER family, weren't they?
