I personally like taffeta...but I am biased b/c mine was taffeta. These are not pro-pics but you can see how it photographs. The first one is inside and the second one is outside. Oh, and I also had second thoughts on the dress after I bought it, but it's normal. I fell back in love with it every time I put it on. It's hard but stop looking at other dresses :) You picked it for a reason!

I think you should stay with your dress! Its beautiful!
Your dress is so pretty! and it photographed beautifully! I think I really just need to stop looking at dresses period. Everytime I have the dress on I love it...I need to just put it up..stop looking at dresses..and I am sure I'll be happy on the wedding day!
Thanks again!
Thanks! I think I just need to stop looking at dresses..lol but it's hard when everytime you turn on the television there are dress shows on left and right..and so many beautiful ones!
I think your dress looks amazing on you and it will definitley suit a beach wedding. You really picked a great dress.
wow, i LOVE it. I think you look gorgeous.
you've got it. keep it. and love it!
Thanks guys! I think I will keep it because when I put it on....I am in love all over again with it..but then it's just my craziness sitting around on the internet and watching dress shows that makes me start wondering haha..I think I should probably stop doing that.
I think it's just the whole shock of..that is nothing that I pictured myself getting..but it turned out to be what looked best..
@kellyj23: I personally don't like taffeta but I realized its mainly on the gowns with all the poof and pickups, looks a little dated.
However I really like it on your dress, looks great on you. Rock it!
@fallbride10111: Not to thread jack but you look so pretty in your dress :)
I am not a fan of taffeta, but it's because of how it feels, not how it looks. I think taffeta can look really nice in photos, but I personally think that most taffeta feels like the fabric umbrellas are made out of!
That being said, I think that this dress looks really nice on you, and if you love how you look/feel in it, the fabric shouldn't matter!
What!!!
Oh hell no. You're not getting rid of that dress. Nope.
I absolutely LOVE taffeta. I used to work at a bridal shop and taffeta was my favorite. I think its normal to have nerves or thoughts of regretting your first dress, at least i hope - im definitely going through it right now with my 1st choice that i just ordered about a month ago! wasnt taffeta, but having nerves about regret is awful!
your dress is gorgeous though. and great for a beach wedding!
Just looking at the last photo, the one where you really get a good look at the way the fabric folds and pleats, I wouldn't worry. The light looks really soft and shimmery reflecting off of your dress.
That dress is perfect for you. I like taffeta. I think it photographs well if you know how to take great pics. :) I am sure your photog has worked with lots of taffeta dress brides.
It looks awesome on you! What if you dressed it up with some bling or a sash or something? I found that when I tried mine on it was obviously the one, but when I dressed it up it really gave me an idea of what it would look like on my day but it also made it look so much better! And BTW, I was always anti-tulle and poof, and this is what I ended up with...

My dress was taffeta and I LOVED it. It was lightweight and breathable. I didnt sweat under it, I didn't feel like I had a big heavy dress on and it photographed really well.
Plus, that dress looks AWESOME on you.
@tinylittlebird: Not all taffeta is like this.... cheap taffeta, yeah, but not good quality taffeta. My wedding dress, for sure, did not look or feel like an umbrella.
Thanks everybody! I think I have finally calmed down about it all lol I don't know why in the world a dress can cause so much stress! =p
That was the main reason I decided on the dress was the fact that it was so light! I couldn't believe it..it made every other dress seem so heavy. The wedding is in Puerto Rico in May so I know it is going to be hot..need something so I don't have a heat stroke mid ceremony lol
i did regret my first dress and took me months to finally admit and decide "i am getting a different dress". then i went on a rampage advertising it and trying on every dress in my city so i would not have two regrets. it all worked out and i sold my first one right when i found "the one"
that being said, both my dresses were taffeta! and i think your dress looks AMAZING on you! much better than my first dress was on me ;)
my dress is taffeta too! it didn't feel like an umbrella at all to me, it didn't sound nylon-ly when i walked, and was soooo light and breathable! the right taffeta fabric can be perfect IMO!
Your dress is lovely, i realy like taffeta, so much so i am making my bridesmaid dresses out of taffeta because its so light and comfortable to wear.
I have seen some cheaper taffetas that are really shiney and i am not so keen of that, but yours isnt shiney at all. its beautiful.
If i had not already ordered my own dress in chiffon, my 2nd choice of dress was made from taffeta.
I actually like the rustling sound it makes...
Thanks for all the feedback guys! You all really helped! Just to let ya know...dress regret is over. I think I was just spending too much time looking at other dresses and over analyzing everything!! lol
But yeah..dress regret over..time to start figuring out how I am going to accessorize! lol

Ok typically I always HATED taffeta. Hated it. Never thought I wanted it. Well I ended up with a taffeta wedding dress..that I loved! I put it on and I love it..but the more I keep looking at it..and the more I keep looking at other peoples pictures of dresses that are of different fabrics..the more I keep thinking..maybe I shouldn't have went with taffeta? I made a quick decision on the dress because the price was great..it was a sample and I would never little to no alterations done...but now..I'm freaked out about the material and how it photographs and that it is just going to look bad.
What do you ladies think? Has anyone else had this problem with loving the dress and then starting to have second thoughts? I'll post a pic of two so you have an idea what I'm talking about. Plus it is a small beach wedding..
