It's only been just over a month for me, but I first came across it while doing some kind of veil research haha. I signed right up to get an opinion on whether I should wear a regular or bircage veil, and didn't really introduce myself at all. That makes me laugh now LOL. I totally wish I had been a "lurker" beforehand, instead of just jumping in - I def. would have made a different username if I had known what I was doing!! And that first time, I just came to post that question, and thought that would be the extent of it. I didn't realize I would be spending huge chunks of my days here from now on!! 
@DD: great post!! I remember my first time... I was so excited it was about a week before my birthday and i had a suspicion that i'd be getting a ring then, errr yeah that was abuot four months ago, but i love it here, and i love waiting with the rest of the ladies in waiting! it's so freaking fun when we graduate... i too came after a few posts on the knot got to me... the people there can be just plain errr mean... i wonder if they're like that in real life?
Hehe I've been engaged since last December, but accidentally found this site a few weeks ago when I was trying to research how people felt three months before the big day... I started to read people's posts and became addicted... officially joined Oct. 31 to post too and share with people to whom I can relate. It's great! Although, I did ask for some advice and did not get enough answers in order to make a decision - but whatever, it's fun to read you guys and participate!
It's been only a month for me too, but I agree with you 100%...the Knot's Boards were obnoxious and catty! I love this site! :-)
Yes! I was doing research on Cafe Brauer and came across the Bee through Miss Peacock's posts about her wedding there. Cafe Brauer didn't stick for us (can you say $$$$$?) but WB certainly did!
I can't even remember how long it has been for me. Maybe a year? I wasn't as active when I first started because I was working way too much but now I have too much time on my hands because I don't work!
There was a link to here on mywedding.com...through a blog, I think. It's only been 3 months, and I still can't believe how awesome everyone is here!
I guess I found it about 5 months ago, right after I got engaged. My co-worker had gotten married right before and she would just read me the ridiculous things people would say on the knot. So I at first tried it out there but it was so unhelpful. Then a friend recommended weddingbee and it had all the info I needed and really easy to search for things and people were actually nice but not pukey fake nice that they lied to you if something was a bad idea.
I've been a member for a month or two (I think), but I was definitely lurking for a few months before I became a member. I'm not engaged... I first stumbled across weddingbee when I was helping my cousin do some research for her wedding dress (I'm her MOH). She's a plus sized bride, and I did a google search and a few links for weddingbee came up. I've been adicted ever since. :) Kind of creeps my bf out a little. haha. We'll get married eventually, but def won't get engaged for a few more years so he thinks it's a little weird that I'm already obsessed with all things wedding related.
I don't even remember how I found it! It was only a few months ago (maybe in June? July?) when I started looking for ideas for my friend who is getting married (i'm the MOH). I have to admit - I was using her wedding as an excuse to look at wedding stuff! 
I didn't join because I felt silly joining before I was engaged (if only I would have known what a great "waiting" community there is here!!!!), but as SOON as I got engaged I told me FI "Now I can go home and join Weddingbee!!!!"
Lol my first post was about waiting... I believe. It was the DAY I got engaged! It's about how I thought he might do it that night... I still chuckle about it :)
Oh, and I found the bee the day before... June 9th, 2009. :) I loved it from the get-go!
I was like wow people that are my age i can talk to about getting married without getting jealious or bored of the excitment!!!
I do like that people seem to offer their honest opinions on this board, without getting too snarky or catty, like a lot of other wedding boards I've seen.
Gah, I feel like the old maid of the boards! I'm the only one that's been around a year!

ETA @honeybun, I've heard you mention not liking your name/handle quite a few times lately, but I really like it :) it's so much easier to identify you than some of the names that are really similar (anything with mrs/miss or bee or dates/numbers gets me)! Plus I can pronounce your name, which always trips me up for some of the girls who use backward spelling or initials or whatever.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think there's a wrong way to pick a name, but I'm the girl who sits and stares at her computer going "EJS - how do I say that... ee-jes? edges? es-jeh - wait, no that's mixing them up.... hhmmmmrmmm..." (ejs hope you don't mind that I picked your name. I really did stare at it for a loooong time the first time I 'noticed' you).

I just looked back at my first WB post :) and I totally remember the first time I stumbled upon this site after feeling so totally overwhelmed at The Knot's boards and so underwhelmed at their site (do they EVER get new content?!). I loved it here - right away I found other LDR girls, and everyone was so welcoming and chatty -- it was great!
Do you remember your first meeting with the 'Bee? How far have you come since then?
