I don’t think I’ve seen a brooch bouquet done like this before.  (Not that I’ve been looking really, but the couple I’ve seen have stems attached to each brooch?)  But I think this is a cool (not to mention much easier!) idea.  And I think wrapping the foam with fabric before adding flowers is a good idea.  Can’t wait to see how it turns out!

If all your brooches are white/silver, I’d definitely say go with purple flowers and maybe just a few ivory ones.

it looks like you have a great start!  i made a brooch bouquet too, and mainly used silver, gold and “diamond” brooches to keep it more monochromatic – i think the purple flowers around it could be gorgous – and totally make the brooches stand out more

This looks awesome!  I just started tossing the idea of a brooch bouquet around the other night and immediately though of using a foam sphere like you are.  The biggest question mark for me is how to make the stem.  How are you planning on doing that???
