I haven't been on in a while and it will be 9 years this year since I was planning my wedding and in your shoes but I wanted to share this blog post that I wrote because I think it would really hit home.

Being a bride in general can be, oh so stressful: setting a date, finding a venue, food, entertainment, the list goes on.  But when you add in being a plus size bride you deal with the same things and then some.

I have heard horror stories of how hard it  is/was being a plus size bride and it just breaks my heart because being engaged and getting married should be the most exciting time of your life. Who wouldn’t love, planning an event where friends and family watch you exchange vows with the one you love and then a party afterwards?  Sounds dreamy!!  But the main thing that always resonates in plus size bride’s minds is “How am I going to look?”

Everyone wants and deserves to look AMAZING on their wedding day but how do you do that?

It’s about image and confidence. Image is all about how YOU perceive yourself.

I myself, am a very outgoing, social and bubbly person that has fun in any situation.  I have been big pretty much all my life. So for me, people have always seen me as a big girl and excepted me.   But I have always been told, time and time again, that it has to do with my personality and how I see myself.

Yes, I am big, beautiful and sexy and if you don’t know you better ask somebody.

And I still go out and get looks because it is all about how I see myself.   This is why the plus size modeling world has flourished so. Plus size models are working their beautiful bodies and letting it be known that “I am fierce, no matter what size I am”.  Once you embrace you and how you look and feel, TRUST ME, everyone around you will start looking at you differently!! 

Don't be afraid to wear something a little different, don't always go for the simple dress.  Think outside the box, wear that dress that shows off your curves or the one that accentuates your chest or even the one that you know is going to drive your soon to be husband wild!! I think so many plus brides settle because of what others will think but in the long run you are selling yourself short.
