How well do belly bands really work? I’m considering getting one, but I didn’t know if it will help “flatten” the stomach at all. I’m a little heavier (only like 30lb more than normal, so not a lot), and have been doing a lot of leggings and long shirts (just more comfortable-not that I can’t fit in my pants), but the leggings make a line in my stomach so I’ve got 2 rolls around where the waist line of the leggins are. Would a belly band help that, or is it strictly for keeping pants on?

I have one – it kind of rolls down and up during the day. i actually tried it on solely to cover love handles i had in a pair of pants. You are better off with a long, size too small, spandex tank if you ask me.

I agree that you’re better off with shapewear like spanx if you’re looking to flatten your stomach – the belly band isn’t meant to do that, just to hold your pants in place without having to button them up as your stomach gets bigger from pregnancy.

I have the same problem with leggings! I found the belly band does work to help smooth the bump especially with multiple layers (shirt, tank, belly band).

I wore mine the first few months over my pants that were unbuttoned…it helped me get by a few more months without having to buy maternity pants….ive also heard they come in handy after baby when you are not quite your original size again yet
