I'm in the very very early stages of brainstorming about my wedding next year :P and I'm wondering if any bees out there have been to or have had a destination wedding in Bermuda??

For the most part my fiance has been against destination weddings (due to the time and financial burden it puts on the guest) but he's sort of been open to Bermuda. I think it might be a good place b/c it's only 2 hours from east coast cities + we could do a formal wedding in a beachy destination. Another plus is the weather is pretty consistent during the summer.

Anyone have any advice or impressions?

I have been to Bermuda and we are going there for our honeymoon.  It is very easy to get to, beautiful, and quaint.  I think it would be a perfect destination wedding location.  The catch?  Quite expensive...

Hmmm, thanks Erindesmar! I feared that Bermuda was one of the more expensive island options. Unfortunately, NYC (where I live) is quite expensive as well so maybe they are more comparable than I thought!

What about somewhere like Belize or Costa Rica ?    I'm trying to think of cheaper  ( but still gorgeous ) options.

We went to Bermuda for our 10th anniversary.  It is a beautiful place!  We stayed at 9 Beaches. http://www.9beaches.com/  It is a less formal resort but nice.  They have nine beach areas (hence the name!) several which would be perfect for a ceremony.

There is also Cambridge Beaches http://www.cambridgebeaches.com/.  It is a little more pricey than 9 Beaches though.

If you go a must do is dinner at the Four Ways Inn!  You order your choice of souffle when you order dinner so it is prepared and served perfectly!  They are also a nice spot to stay and for a ceremony.  http://www.fourwaysinn.com/.

If you don't have your wedding there it is a perfect honeymoon spot!

    Good luck!
