Hi! I haven’t gone on a honeymoon there, but my fiance and I took a vacation there last year and had a fantastic time. We stayed at the 9 beaches resort, which offers glorified tent hotel cottages. Sides are made of sail material, but there is a solid raised foundation, an AC unit and a fully functional indoor bathroom. Our resort was on the western side of the island. If you’re looking for something closer to the larger cities (Hamilton and St. George’s), then stay on the eastern side of the island. There are lots of full service resorts, boutique hotels that were formerly estate mansions (my parents recommend Rosedon near Hamilton), and vacation rental apartments available. You can rent mopeds, take the bus, or just walk, walk, walk! Taxis are expensive but reliable, and tourists cannot rent a car, so keep your transportation needs in mind. Another option would be to take a cruise–most cruise ships stop in Bermuda for two days at a time, so you’d get a nice taste of the island.

Just keep an eye on what the weather conditions are when you are going. Bermuda isn’t a “tropical” island like most carribean islands. It can get a bit cool there some months. Also note- this is not the kind of island where you can walk around in  abathing suit and shorts off-resort. They are a little more conservative there.

Bermuda is very nice, but if you’re looking for an adult only, all inclusive you won’t find it there. It’s a great little island, but things do tend to be pricey because everything has to be imported.
