Besides Zales, do any other jewelry chains offer a lifetime warranty?

Zales doesnt offer on all rings. I returned mine for that reason. Most chains do if you buy in store and not a clearance type deal or custom. Your best bet would just be to ask the jewelers. Some you can just purchase the protection which is typically based off of the value of the ring.

Kay does! You just have to have it inspected every 6 months.

honestly I am not positive if it was the particular warranty or my ring because it has so many stones but my warranty covers the stones if they were to fall out or anything but I have to get it inspected every 6 months … it takes 2 seconds but wouldn’t be very convenient if you don’t live nearby one. (Although a close friend of mine has a solitare and does not need to get hers inspected – so either my Fi heard wrong, I have a different warranty – as mine covers anything and everything, or its because I have so many stones.

I have rings from both Helzbergs and Kays and they have lifetime warrenties on them, as long as I take them in to have them checked every 6 months.  I know the local jeweler we looked at didn’t have warrenty, but sold insurance on rings which would cover basically the same things, but you had to pay on it every year.

We bought my set from Jared’s on memorial day and they have a life time warrenty.  We went to the states (as I live on a bordering city) and the staff was amazing, so professional and nice at the location we went to. Everyone’s always gonna have bad service somewhere so where ever you buy your jewelry from, just make sure you love it and thats all that matters 🙂

Kay (And Jared’s, they’re owned by the same people) warranties cover any and all stones that fall out IF you buy the Extended Service Plan (the warranty) AND you get it inspected every six months.

@MarieeToBee:  I’m not sure why your friend was told that… Even if it has one stone or 100, the 6 month inspection thing is still true.

@Future_MrsReeves:  careful with online ordering as well, because some jewelry stores, especially chains, don’t offer the same warranties and guarantees on their jewelry as they do in stores. That was part of the issue I had with mine, even though they SAY they offer those warranties on all jewelry, the very fine print you have to dig to find says otherwise. Good news is that typically their return policies are good. After trial and error the last few months I would suggest purchasing in store as opposed to online. Do you have any local jewelrs you may be able to work with? Also, keep in mind that chain jewelry stores can often negotiate the list price down, you can have some bargain room if they feel you’ll go elsewhere.

I would make sure you get your ring insured as well. Lifetime warranties from jewelry stores are a nice thing to have, but generally don’t include things like loss/theft of your ring. Check out Jewler’s Mutual.
