I need some good, FAST acne spot treatment recommendations. I’m currently using the Murad one, which is okay, but it doesn’t work miracles. And of course, it’s 12 days to the wedding and I’ve got several breakouts. I’d prefer one without benzoyl peroxide, because it irritates my skin big time. And I’d like one that I can get at Ulta, Sephora, a drugstrore, etc, as opposed to something I’d have to buy online because I don’t have much time left!!

You could try spot treating it with tea tree oil- that works fairly well.
I haven’t had huge successes with many products in spot-treatment.

I just bought one by Boscia, its called willow bark spot treatment.
I never buy these products because they never seem to work, but for some reason when placing my Sephora order something possessed me to get it.
And, it works! I’m shocked, and jacked.. I don’t break out often but once per month I’ll get an unsightly pimple on my chin. This clears it right up, without drying out my skin.

@plum_pudding: I may have to try that. There’s a mask that I use occasionally that has tea tree oil in it that I really like. Where would I find tea tree oil?

try using the mint julep mask by queen helene. you can find it pretty much anywhere- ulta, target, walgreens, etc. sometimes instead of using it as a mask, i’ll apply it on a few pimples over night and it seems to help:)

@lilchicana: Hmm, good idea! I used to use that when I was younger.

It’s really not a good idea to try new treatments within hte two week window. I’d back off on treatments and let your skin calm down.

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion – I love it!

I use the one from Origins, but it may be benzoyl peroxide :-/ I like that it’s not shiny or anything when it dries, so I can put it on and leave it on while I’m at work and everything. Usually takes 4-5 days for a bad spot to clear, shorter for a small spot or if I catch it before it gets too bad.

Anything with willow bark is essentially a salisylic acid treatment so you can purchase something like Neutrogena RapidClear salicylic acid treatment (gel or they make face pads). Or you can crush up aspirin and make it into a paste with some water since aspirin is acetylsalicylic acid and was originally made from the bark of the willow tree anyway. Just leave it on as long as you like and rinse off. I also suggest you invest in a good scrubby for your back, or have your fiance take care of it for you when you’re in the shower together.

Mario badescu drying lotion or anything with pink clay
origins charcoal mask as spot treatment
the body shop makes a tea tree line
A mask with silver in it if you can find one
spot treat overnight, DO NOT PICK, and moisturizer in the day time as skin needs moisture to heal itself

Tea tree oil, available on Amazon for around $6 a bottle. It works pretty well for me.
